Behind the scenes pulling focus on MEZCLADA FAMILIA at @yorkmotion with the Tilta Nucleus-M II for the Toronto 48 Hour Film Project. My most challenging focus pull yet, a oner with mid-take zooms that kept me on my toes as 1st AC. Loved the challenge.🎯

A look back at #TIFF26! Congratulations to all the students, alumni, faculty and staff who represented AMPD at this year’s TIFF, on screen, behind the scenes and throughout the festival.

Highlights included Naomi Jaye (MFA ’19) who presented ‘SLOW’, a participatory multi-screen installation, and MA student Rennie Taylor’s ‘Little Free Cinema’ which featured work by alumna Christina Dovolis (MFA ‘23) and Professor Emeritus Philip Hoffman.

Sylvia Mok’s (BFA ’26) documentary ‘Restaurant Kids’ screened as part of the National Film Board of Canada and TIFF’s ReDefined initiative, while AMPD alumni were also part of the team behind ‘Neverman’ featured in TIFF’s Centrepiece programme.

The festival also brought recognition for alum Yuula Benivolski (MFA ’25), whose ‘The Black Box is Orange’ received an Honourable Mention for the Best Canadian Discovery Award.

Until next year, TIFF!

✨Meet the Team | Erik Arnesen 🎧

Meet Erik Arnesen, one of our two sound designers behind SLOW.

Working at the intersection of sound, image and movement, Erik helped shape the sonic world of SLOW — a world that shifts, builds and transforms with the movement of the audience.

In SLOW, sound isn’t simply something you hear. It becomes part of the experience — drawing us deeper into movement, memory and time.

A glimpse before the doors open.

Something is beginning to move.

SLOW is an immersive meditation on movement, memory and time — experienced not from a distance, but together.

Eight screens.
One moving body.
And you.

Coming to Festival Street at TIFF.

SLOW is coming to TIFF 🎉
A participatory meditation on movement, memory, and time - created by Naomi Jaye, SLOW reimagines the zoetrope as a large, human-powered installation. The audience is the engine. It only comes alive through collective effort.

Catch it in person September 10-13 at TIFF Festival Street (John and Wellington).
Presented by @tremendousproductions × @tiff_net
📍 TIFF Festival Street, Toronto (John and Wellington)
🗓️ Sept 10–13, 2026

Produced with the support of the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council (an agency of the Government of Ontario), and the Canada Council for the Arts.
