We were excited to welcome St. Michael’s High School to MMS for a hands-on filmmaking workshop! Students travelled from Bolton to write, direct, and shoot their own short scenes using our two standing sets and green screen. The day kicked off with a writing activity before students brought their ideas to life, rotating between three shooting zones and getting hands-on experience behind the camera. So many future York film students in this group—we can’t wait to see where their filmmaking takes them 🎥🎉📀🤠🎇🎬🎞️ taken in Cinespace Studios by @yorkmotion

Motion Media Studio (MMS) at the Ontario Universities’ Fair! We spoke to prospective film, dance, theatre, and new media students about all the benefits being a York student. One of the biggest advantages is our partnership with @cinespacestudios , where students have access to industry-grade soundstages to create incredible projects 🎥🪩🎞️🌿🎊🎭🎸 taken in Cinespace Studios by @yorkmotion

Sound Equipment at the York U Motion Media Studio Part 2! Technical Coordinator @josiahdyck walks us through the sound booth, live mixing equipment, and microphone set up! The sound booth is a great spot to podcast, record voice-over, record folly, or just have a quiet spot to work. We love welcoming students into the space for all their film needs 🎥🎷🎭🎶

On set with THE TWO SNAKES, written by @yorkucma student Ella Kruus and produced by @mediaartsfutures student Rovir Nessia! They transformed our new restaurant standing set into a concert venue, showcasing the versatility of the space. With its elevated platform, the restaurant set is perfect for use as a stage and adaptable multi-modal space. We can’t wait to see the final project 🎺🎸🎹🎶🎷🎫🎬🎥🎞️
