It was a bit of a long throwback to 2023, but we thought it was important to reflect back on this second iteration of ‘Achiragawa’, because we are continuing to build on this work and to bring a fourth iteration to life soon.

We want to thank @youarehere_canberra for supporting this project with a big shoutout to our Producer @zorapang and our mentor @imolook. And huge thanks to @flowyogacanberra for allowing us to use their fantastic space.

Finally, massive thanks to all those who came and provided us with such invaluable feedback which will continue to deeply inspire the future iterations of ‘Achiragawa’.

There's so much happening in Canberra this weekend! Our pal @marilyntuna.art has gotten her hands dirty in the murky underworld of fine street art, curating 'The Killing of Canberra' exhibition with @youarehere_canberra - a show rich with Australia's greatest in graffiti.

The long weekend holds many exciting events - see @blank.platform for more information - including the mass-marking of Canberra's Woden Drains by Australia's best graffiti writers (weather permitting).

There's too much to talk about here, so check out @marilyntuna.art @blank.platform @youarehere_canberra @sanchosdirtylaundry for more info (and our feed for shared posts from these legends).

A new perspective from an audience member. They said that if you place an object in your room, it becomes familiar and so does its role. But then once you see it in a totally different space, in a very different context, your perception of the object might change significantly. If you hadn’t seen this object in another context, it would just remain ordinary to you and unchanged.

The third space encouraged the audience to experiment and explore with light by interacting with the objects hanging in the space. One audience member shared that they tried to undo the role of the crocheted blanket as a divider of space and tune into its material properties and relationships to light. They reflected that it was pleasing to see how light worked through it, on it, from either side.

In July 2026 I had the pleasure of running a bird puppet workshop for @blank.platform
Over three weeks participants constructed their own moving articulated bird puppets from recycled cardboard and other found materials.

An audience member said that in the room where everyone was invited to play around with shining light onto the hanging objects, through interacting with them and observing how the light changed the shadows and reflections on the ceiling and walls, they began to realise that the meaning of these objects changed because of the place and context they were situated inside.

An audience member explained that the film was obstructed and abstracted by the design of the roof and because of this, it seemed like it didn’t want to be watched. And as it was projected onto a mesh shirt hung above, they felt like it was watching them. Then they asked, “How would that define us, if we were all watched as a single entity? What would that look like spatially?
