POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We’re thrilled to announce that our short film We Can’t Breathe has been officially selected for the Oakland International Film Festival! 🎬✨

Inspired by true events, this story comes straight out of Richmond, CA—a city where Black and Brown communities live under the daily toxic impact of oil refineries. We Can’t Breathe shines a light on environmental injustice and the devastating health consequences our people continue to face.

This project united a team of emerging filmmakers with one purpose: to use art as a voice for change. 🌍✊🏽

Fun fact: We Can’t Breathe was written, produced, and directed by Bay Area BIPOC artists, with a cast and crew that was more than 90% BIPOC.

🎟️ Tickets are available now! Grab yours through the link in our bio or at the door.

✨ 🎬 Over the weekend, I was surrounded by love and support by my dearest ones. Watching our film on the big screen was a powerful reminder of why I’m so passionate about what I do. With 80% of the cast and crew being Mexican & filming in the Bay Area, my hometown, it held special significance for me. I had the opportunity to produce a short film and even had a small role in it. These stories are not only important for representation but also crucial for challenging stereotypical narratives about Mexican culture and our undocumented communities. When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place. #undocufilmmakers #mexicana #wecantbreathe #latinosinhollywood #bayareafilm #independantfilm

#saturdayshenanigans At a packed @nfmla in DTLA, I felt privileged to meet some amazingly ‘brave’ filmmakers who, in their short films, addressed some of their own personal health issues that (sadly) sometimes make some people feel uncomfortable to be around…OCD, the use of prosthetic limbs, hearing impairment and depression. All of their films were done superbly well, thought provoking awareness and acceptance. Bravo! My utmost respect for all of you beautiful inside out uber talented artists! 🌟🙌🏽💕 Finally, @radhamehta and I met ‘in-person’ and it didn’t feel like it was our first meet!!💕 Later in the evening, met up with new and old artist friends to watch @monkeymanmovie @devpatelisprecious was simply fantastic with his intense energy! 🙌🏽🌟👍🏼 #alhforeverything #mashaallah🧿 🤲🏼🙏🏼 @ekwomenglobal
