@larubeyasurfing at the Apollo 😆😆

That you @apollotheater for the honor of speaking on the MLK: Youth Changemakers, Feeding Our Future Panel. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off these next 4 years.

This event was very insightful as to how we should be moving forward.
- Sharing resources, information, and space within our communities.
- Building, investing, and supporting in our communities
- Taking back your individual power and investing it into your community

The following 3 orgs were wonderfully represented at the event and here is some info on them. Check out their pages to see how to get involved;

@younglordescollective is an artist- activist collective that fights for equity in nyc through art.

@fff.nyc is a international, intersectional youth movement fighting for climate justice.

@harlemgrown inspired you to lead healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition.

The puff and pass event shot by meeee 🫶🏾

Brought to you by : @yuniform.us , @fourteeninetyfive , @younglordescollective and @genetic.reserve

The Puff and Pass community event that came to life in both Brooklyn,NY and Richmond,VA on 4/20.

We are so grateful for the opportunity and to everyone who offered their time and services with us . Using our platform is not just important, but essential. As individuals and organizations with resources and influence have the power to support and uplift the parts of our communities that create tangible contributions .

🫶🏾Through all of our efforts, we were able to gather over 1000 articles of clothing that were then donated to local shelters and individuals in need. 🫶🏾

The Puff and Pass event was a way to not only inform others on the intentions of our organizations but foster a sense of unity, compassion, and solidarity within community.

Much love to everyone who helped make this happen and to everyone who came out and donated that day 🖤

Just a few days ago, we had the immense pleasure of collaborating with 1495, Genetic Reserve, YLC, and Yuniform for their incredible Puff N’ Pass community event. This gathering brought together a diverse array of creatives, all united in a shared mission: to generously donate clothing to shelters supporting both women and men across our city. To call the event a success would be an understatement of epic proportions! We extend our deepest gratitude to all who joined us, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere filled with sunshine, music, games, and delicious food. Together, we joyously marked 4/20 in a spirit of community, compassion, and celebration.💐🫂

We are ecstatic to share some photos of the lovely team who helped make this possible, captured by Jamisha @jamdedceo !🎀

What is SID and what do we stand for? Join us this Wednesday in a (de)occupation of 181 Mercer lobby to dive into the idea of ‘political praxis’ and the politics that inform our actions. We maintain that we are fighting interlocked struggles and thus in order to make change we must remain principled and thoughtful. At 2pm, we will introduce SID’s core politics and throughout the afternoon we will discuss key concepts such as imperialism (with a representative from YLC) and international labor solidarity. We will end the night with a film screening about Palestinian resistance to educate and inspire. Please join us — free snacks, zines, and stickers will be available! ✊🏽🫡🕊️
