Former Art Director of The Young Lordes Collective, Fredi G-P, was recently kidnapped by the IOF in international waters while attempting to deliver aid to occupied Palestine with the Sumud Flotilla.

While Fredi is safe now, we urge you to keep pushing for action— there are still 2 members of the flotilla being held captive by the Israeli military and several participants have been brutalized. 60+ members of the flotilla, including Fredi, are engaging in a hunger strike until Saif and Thiago are returned safely from captivity.

Please follow their instructions below and share to push for the safe return of their comrades.

HOW TO TAKE ACTION:
Call your state representative and senators to act immediately to:
1. Express unequivocal condemnation of Israel’s actions as a violation of international law
2. Emphasize immediate diplomatic protection to all U.S. participants
3. Communicate urgently with the Greek government to ensure safe passage and return.
Find a rally in your local area to call on the Federal Government to act immediately.

Inspired by albums of the 1970s that used natural elements to spread messages of environmental awareness, this activity will allow you to design your own record cover using watercolor paint, collage, and/or letterpress techniques. Don’t forget to include your environmental activism playlist on the back!

At the intersection of artistry and activism, the Young Lordes Collective (YLC) is a grassroots artist-activist youth collective that aims to create a growing and breathing network of underrepresented New Yorkers. Since March 2021, the Young Lords Collective has cultivated a generative space for community-based learning, care, and revolutionary struggle for the emerging artists and activists of our generation. Through multimedia publications, mutual aid initiatives, food drives, open mic nights, educational discussions, and more, the Young Lordes Collective pays homage to activist groups of the past by uplifting the change makers of the future.

PH x Teens is a drop-in program for young adults ages 13 to 18. Advanced registration is required; participants are not expected to stay the entire time. Guests should plan to spend about an hour on this interactive, self-guided activity. taken in Poster House by @younglordescollective

This climate week, Tokala, as seen in @voguemagazine, was brought to life @theshedny. Featuring YLC, Tokala was a gallery highlighting climate activists from across the United States. We are honored to have stood alongside these astounding communities while representing New York. Thank you to everyone from the gallery’s team for not only making this possible, but for including us in the journey. Our event was a day full of POC joy & community support. Thank you to all who donated to our school supplies drive, we have already began distributing the donations to NYC students and families in need.

Tomorrow, Sunday the 17th, our Founder, Sumaya Bouhbal, will be speaking on a panel with other activists from Tokala, as seen in @voguemagazine.
