Some towns are known for their history. Bakewell is known for a famous mistake… 🥧

Centuries before the pudding, a medieval stone bridge brought traders across the river to the market. It’s still held in the same spot today, more than 800 years later. 🌉

Then, in the mid 1800s, the Rutland Arms kitchen is said to have served up something unexpected. A strawberry tart was ordered, but the cook poured the egg mixture over the jam instead of mixing it into the pastry. The result was so good it never left the menu 🤎

Today, you can still taste it in the town where it all began. At the Original Bakewell Pudding Shop @realbakewellpud
Just don’t call it a tart, the locals will notice 😉

How do I explain this feeling to someone who has never seen Pride & Prejudice? 🍂

Chatsworth House. Mr Darcy’s Pemberley, and quite possibly the most romantic estate in all of England. 🏛️

Some houses are built to be admired. And at Chatsworth, every moment is designed to take your breath away. 🤎

💝 Begin inside, among rooms that have hosted generations.
💝 Follow the Cascade down the hillside, past fountains and sculptures
💝 Then wander the parkland as it turns to amber and gold.
💝 End, as one should, with coffee and cake. 🍂☕

📍 Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, DE45 1PP

🚂 Getting there from London St Pancras to Sheffield (around 2 hours), then the 218 bus from the Interchange (Stand D2) straight to the house. Show your bus ticket for £4 off entry. Check the timetable and last return bus before you go.

🎟️ Tickets vary by whether you visit the house, gardens or both, so check the official Chatsworth website for current prices.
