So, I want to know who loved 26.2 ✋🏼….

And who would be good with never doing that workout again?

Cheers to one of my favorite weeks of the year! Happy Black Maternal Health Week 2025! 🥳🤎🤰🏾
•
Now, I’ve been on a panel before, but this time felt different. This time, it was an answered prayer…literally. See, I’ve been working in the legal field for almost 6 months and I’ve been enjoying the change of pace and experiencing public health from a whole new sector. But…I was feeling unfulfilled. I knew I couldn’t just fully let go of maternal and child health. It would literally keep me up at night. So, I prayed; I asked God for an opportunity. I didn’t know what kind of opportunity; just an opportunity.

And chiiile, 3 weeks later (cue the organ), an amazing woman doing amazing work randomly reached out to me on LinkedIn, met with me, and asked me to be a panelist for her event, talking about none other than Black Maternal Health and preconception care 🥹

Y’all. I was FLOORED…not just by the opportunity, but by witnessing God moving and being the master chess player that He is 👏🏾 Even in moments where I feel like God’s playing with me, He also reminds me from time to time that He doesn’t play about me 😂

Hearing our moderator refer to me as an “expert” definitely jump-started my imposter syndrome 😅 And although I don’t see myself as an expert, I do see myself as an advocate. I’ll never stop advocating for and teaching about Black women’s health and maternal health and everything in between. I love MCH and I love Black women entirely too much to stop.

A big thank you to mariebooneclark and @birthingthemagiccollaborative for “stalking” me 🤭 and extending this invitation. This event inspired me in so many ways, and you gave me a chance to beat imposter syndrome! I’m happy to be a part of this team and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for future events #BlackBreastfeedingWeek2025 👀🙌🏾

Wow. I have no words. Bethany Baptist Church Food Pantry is 13 y’all!!!! I couldn’t let this day end without acknowledging this journey(especially since I have been saying I’m going to quit for 12 of those 13 years). Lol. All I can say is Thank you Jesus because I could not do this without him! This journey is not easy. If only y’all saw the tears, sweat, and blood that has been shed. And thank you to those that have been here for the ride. Of course my parents cuz they literally run the thing when it comes to labor but also to my day ones that still are here @yourstrulyjemima and @newcreation509 . And to those that have volunteered even one day or one minute, I say thank you! And to those that have joined the team or even planning to join the team, I say thank you! We have impacted so many lives and I know we are truly walking the steps of Jesus!

Let’s make our road to 14 an even better one.

SN: Sigh guess I’m not quitting…. Yet. lol

Also thank you to our biggest food supporters @feedingsouthflorida and @pbcfoodbank !

From the very first video @hewfitnesswpb took of me to this morning’s workout and countless workouts in between ☺️ I can’t believe it’s been ONE YEAR since I started at HEW WPB… and what a year it’s been! I started to get emotional as I was putting this post together because I’m so proud of my progress and fitness journey and I’m grateful to all the coaches who helped guide and push me to get to where I am today 💪🏽 it’s why I didn’t choose a song- I wanted y’all to hear the same encouraging words I hear each and every single time I step into the gym 🫶🏽 thank you to the coaches and thank you to the HEW WPB community (too many of y’all too tag) and special shout-out to the 5:30am crew!!!!!
