book review 📼🫧🎧⚾️

i have finally finished the windy city series, and i truly can't believe it's done:,))

rewind it back was one of the most wholesome second chance romances i've read in a while!! i wish i got to know rio more in the book though, as i feel like he lost his humor and wit from the previous books :( i still love him!! just miss his whimsy ☹️

the romance was really wholesome, and as always, liz is a master at pacing it perfectly! the plot was sort of there?? but i ate up all the previous couples' crumbs that we got! it was like returning to my second family :,))) hallie is such a realistic and well fleshed out character! i related to her on many occasions ! her and rio just FIT and their love for music and little traditions had me 🫠🫠🫠

although the right move is still my favorite windy city book, this one has a special place in my heart too <3

if you've read this series and made it this far, which book was your favorite? ⚾️

xx, liana

“Novelist in Love” by Adam Yakel is a book that lingers long after the last page is turned.

“I wish I could share my sleep with you. You’re already sharing your life with me, and I am eternally grateful for that.”

🌟 Rating: 4.9/5

This book makes you feel every emotion—starting with friendship that blossoms into love, the kind of love that feels like a warm hug. Every chapter is deeply moving, and the way it closes each one is simply unforgettable. This story will always hold a special place in my heart.

If you’re struggling with how to move forward, how to accept without expecting, or trying to heal from a tangled past—and if there’s someone in your life who wants to hold your hand and help you out of that darkness—then you should definitely give this book a try.

The story begins with a condition: Charles can’t sleep. His beautiful partner, Hannah, is doing everything she can to help him heal. But what if it’s not just a disease? What if it’s about a grave he hasn’t visited in the past seven years—and the girl buried there? The mystery behind this will stay with you for a long time.

My personal favorite—and the most underrated—character is Hannah. She’s the one who chooses to share her life and Charles’ pain in every possible way. Every morning, she wakes up with a smile and hope that one day, everything will be okay.

Reading Novelist in Love feels like being embraced by words. It’s a story that gently touches your heart and teaches you that sometimes, the most precious people came into our lives at the wrong time. It’s not just about love or effort—it’s about what’s meant to be.

We had a fascinating interaction with Giselle Mehta, the author of the historical fiction, "VECTORS IN THE VOID" in which the drama unfolds in the backdrop of the birth of 3 nations, India and Pakistan on the one hand and Israel on the other. Giselle read excerpts from the novel and responded to queries about the craft of writing and the process of research for her drama with a historical backdrop.

On an interesting note, our 1st Meet the Author that we had organized on the Bakul Terrace and the 2nd ever such meet at Bakul was with Giselle Mehta in 2013 when she had discussed her debut novel, Blossom Showers.

Let’s try this again!
The lovely @savvyyreads tagged me in the Name Stack Challenge and I definitely had to put some effort into this one! I cheated just a little for the V because it turns out all the books that I have that truly start with V are on my kindle app.

V = A Victorian Flower Dictionary by Mandy Kirkby (This goes nicely with my favorite book, The Language of Flowers by @vanessadiffenbaugh )
I = Icebreaker by @hannahgraceauthor (Thank you @yellowrosega for this book!)
C = Chasing Redemption by @shannonnikoleauthor (This came in my Romance Reveal Book Box)
T = The Librarian of Burned Books by @brilabuskes (Very excited to read this one!)
O = One True Love by @tjenkinsreid (This will be my first TJR read)
R = Rumor Has It by @jillshalvis (Grabbed this at my Little Free Library locally today when dropping off a bunch of books. I couldn’t say no to a book with a dog on the cover)
I = I Like Me Better by @authorsusanrenee (This is another @romancereveal Book Box book)
A = All the Broken People by @leahkonen (This was a book I picked up at the airport before a business trip years ago and I think I’m due for a re-read)

So far, I’ve read 2 of these - Icebreaker and All the Broken Pieces but I am hoping to get to the rest this year, plus do a re-read of ATBP. Have you read any of these? What did you think?

If you’re seeing this, consider yourself tagged!

Almost every book lover I have come across loves to journal about their views on the books they have read. Some of us share our journals and some of us keep it to ourselves like me. These journals are our little mirrors to reflect on the realities as well as escape from it.

I like to keep my journals simple. They include my TBR lists for the year, and my feelings about the book. Socrates said "𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟" and I feel journaling along with reading takes you one step closer towards knowing yourself.

Do you have a Reading Journal? If yes , I would love to know how you love journaling 📜🤍
