Last night at Radiant Yoga in Worthington (thanks for hosting, Amy!), RaDonna shared her journey into tarot and gave readings to the group. Gretchen and Steph were vibing with their cards while I sat there like, “Um, hello? 👀”

Then at the very end... I found the Ace of Wands hiding under my seat. 🔥🪄 New beginnings, fresh spark, big creative energy. It was practically shouting my name. I read it myself, and RaDonna had no notes. HA! 😂

A magical night of setting intentions, slowing down, and truly listening. 🌙

What does community look like in Columbus to me? As a queer nonbinary, lifelong resident of Columbus, I want to spotlight the places I love, this time decentering the consumerism. We long for third places, but sometimes we have to create that third place ourselves. Scroll to read on.

@934gallery is a nonprofit art gallery in Milo Grogan and a place I've spent the last 10 years volunteering. Art exhibitions are free and easily accessible, not only physically but also culturally. Yes, prepare to be exposed to new ideas but always with arms wide open.

Adjacent to the gallery is @934fest, a free music and art festival that raises money for the gallery (psst it's coming up September 11 & 12). The mix of music, art, and vendors is unlike any other festival in Columbus. Additionally it's kid friendly during the day. Don't think Columbus has anything original? Pfft. Think again.

@mixedologies makes me feel dumb every week and I don't mind the abuse. In my opinion, it's hard to find good trivia. It's gotta be a good mix of accessible but also challenging. It's been great seeing the same groups week after week, even forming friendly rivalries.

This was the community I didn't even know I needed. @confetticraftclub (run by the one and only @jeannetteyconfettii ) is exactly what I needed to heal myself this year. No creativity needed, just a willingness to get silly and say yes to whatever Jeannette is crafting up. Bonus: it's 3 hours where I don't look at my phone any instead get to know the person sitting next to me. OR I can get lost in the sauce and that's also acceptable.

Okay yes, I have to plug my own @cbusbackgammonclub because the vibe of community is EXACTLY what we're trying to build. You know I'm going to make this into the social space I wish to see in Columbus. Everyone is welcome, no one should feel dumb, you can come alone or with friends. My hope is that you have fun and ignore your phone.

I thought I signed up for a workshop.
I didn’t.

I walked into a reset.

Spring Equinox.
Print. Pour. Predict.
Seeds. Bud. Bloom.

I set an intention.
Had my first tarot reading (yes… I cried).
Created candles that actually mean something.
And carved something with my own hands that now glows in my home.

This was peace.
This was new beginnings.
This was something I didn’t know I needed.

I’ll be back for the next one in June.

when @weareauraaura comes to columbus, you go 🤷🏼‍♀️

people ask me all the time where to get auras read and this is always my answer. I’ve had my aura read many times over many years and this is hands down the best I’ve experienced. so happy to have her book now too!
