#SceneNowEvents: Halloween is less than two weeks away, and Lazuli has a few spooky surprises up its sleeve for the occasion, including a 14-hour marathon. And yes, music is very much a big part of the event. Fronting that side of things is French selector and Stay at Home Records head honcho Adrien Calvet, who will headline the Halloween edition of Lazuli’s ‘DAFUNK’ party on October 30th.

The day kicks off at the Haunted Garden, where guests can enjoy games, activities, and an open bar, while DJs Jess, RJ, and Youssef El-Kady soundtrack the day. As the sun sets, the Cursed Warehouse enters the chat, with Calvet taking over the night alongside local favourites Messery, K-Laff, and Adam.

Reserve your spot now by hitting @lazuli.mena’s link in bio on Instagram.

For ALL events happening across Egypt, head to the #Events section on www.scenenow.com or download the SceneNow app.

#NoiseSets: This week on Select, Egyptian drummer-turned-DJ DJOJO joins us with a vibrant, groove-laden set exploring 70s and 80s African music, with a strong focus on West Africa. Drawing on his background as a drummer, DJOJO taps into his obsession with polyrhythms, weaving together a soulful, movement-forward journey.

The mix sets off with Ekambi Brillant’s buoyant ‘Aboki’, introducing a lively pulse that flows into the cult-classic synth-boogie of Steve Monite’s ‘Things Fall Apart’. The energy stays locked in as Free Youth’s infectious ‘We Can Move’ raises the temperature, driving the set toward the warm, horn-laced afro-funk textures of Eko Roosevelt’s ‘Tondoho Mba’.

a little recent milestone I wanted to share my gratitude for — the first time ever that i get an official ‘instructor’ post & ofc its for slacklining! 🌳—🤪—🌳

i loveee sharing the passion i have for this sport thats taught me so much, getting to introduce others to it & this time round ~ i am SO incredibly proud of every single person who took that first shaky step, found interest, kept at it & didnt give up on themselves because that’s all it is at the end. 🤍

big gratitude for my best monkey youssef for his energy, seriously fun spirit and his years of monkeying experience made working alongside him is such a pleasure 🐒

and ofc a big thank you to @ascentegypt, @thetrifactory, & the @adventureco.eg team, photographers, crew and everyone behind the scenes who worked hard to bring this initiative to life, bringing together a lovely community of people with common interests.

What a gift to teach African dance, philosophy and Movement Medicine on the ancient soil of Egypt. Feet in the Nile, dancing at the foot of the Temple of Isis, grounding into the African wisdom of body, land, and spirit.

Such a blessed dancing group to guide. Thank you to @mmongislav and @nilejourneys for inviting me and hosting this workshop together.
