#NoiseSets: This week on Select, Egyptian drummer-turned-DJ DJOJO joins us with a vibrant, groove-laden set exploring 70s and 80s African music, with a strong focus on West Africa. Drawing on his background as a drummer, DJOJO taps into his obsession with polyrhythms, weaving together a soulful, movement-forward journey.

The mix sets off with Ekambi Brillant’s buoyant ‘Aboki’, introducing a lively pulse that flows into the cult-classic synth-boogie of Steve Monite’s ‘Things Fall Apart’. The energy stays locked in as Free Youth’s infectious ‘We Can Move’ raises the temperature, driving the set toward the warm, horn-laced afro-funk textures of Eko Roosevelt’s ‘Tondoho Mba’.

I find photographing people somehow similar to my work as a facilitator.

First I try to establish connection and safety. From there I develop the connection and build intimacy. There’s some kind of magic that happens when I focus less on getting what I exactly want (that shot I imagined, the outcome of the workshop), and just be present with whatever emerges from the people in front of me.

I’m celebrating setting these photographs free from my hard drive and into the real world!

First time printing some of the photos I’ve taken over the past few years. I never felt that moved by my photography because they were always stuck in a screen or forgotten for years on in a hard drive. They somehow felt inaccessible.

Today I’m celebrating setting my photographs free from the hard drive and into the real world! I’ll hang them on my walls, gift some and some are looking for a human to stare at :) If any of these photos moved you DM me. by @youssefelkady

First highline attempt in Sinai ⛰️

Fear of heights, dislocated a shoulder, and couldn’t balance standing on the 60m line yet experiencing a highline in our beautiful Sinai had been a dream of mine for 10+ years.

I think this experience awakened the long lost adventurer in me, so thank you @_planettv_ and friends for making this happen

I don’t remember taking these exact photos, but i do remember getting lost in Sinai around when the geno$id3 started.

I found myself near the borders gas running out, no network, not sure if i’m headed in the right direction close to a war zone, i see those camels and i couldn’t but pause all that and take these shots 🐪🏜️
