Most nights, these are the people making everyone else’s celebration happen. This one was theirs. 🤍
Loved being the DJ sponsor for @wipacolorado at @copperbarranchco I met people I’m excited to work with and left with my head full of ideas for Altitude Beats.

Thank you to everyone who brought this evening together. So glad I caught a little of it on camera.

A little autumn magic in the Colorado mountains. 🍂✨

There is something so special about gathering with the people who spend their lives creating extraordinary experiences for others. Events like WIPA Colorado’s Q4 celebration showcase the incredible talent of our colleagues, but they’re also an opportunity to simply enjoy being together. To reconnect with old friends, make new ones, share stories, and celebrate the lives and businesses we’ve built.

I had the pleasure of joining this wonderful community as the sponsor photographer at Copper Bar Ranch, a remarkable new venue nestled in the valleys outside of Vail, lovingly protected by a family committed to preserving the land for generations to come. With the aspens at their golden peak, the setting could not have been more beautiful.

Guests enjoyed cocktails beneath the trees before wandering to a stunning tented reception. Before dinner, the dynamic duo behind Fulton Events shared their wisdom on meaningful networking. A beautiful meal by Red Maple Catering followed, and the evening evolved into dancing beneath the stars.

What a gift to experience the artistry and hospitality of our peers while celebrating the relationships that make this industry so rewarding. I’m grateful to have captured this evening filled with beautiful surroundings, familiar faces, new friendships, and so much joy. 🤍

The Threshing Day Release Party, hosted by @tatteredcoverbookstore featuring @rebeccayarros herself, interviewed by @amaliehoward.

A night for the books. Literally. 🐉📚

It was such a pleasure to be in a packed theater celebrating the love and passion the bookish community has for these stories.

Rebecca has created a world that you can’t help but obsess over, and that has never been clearer than it was last night. And Amalie was the perfect person to join her on stage, asking the hard questions and bringing such a send of joy to the interview.

A huge shout out to our lovely friends at @fantasyfangirlspod, @sparrow.and.wilde, and @bookandgatherco for all the pre-show fun as well.

I loved seeing local bookish vendors and podcasters at the event, keeping us entertained before the show. If you are looking for local Colorado bookish women-owned businesses to support, these ladies are some of the best.

And thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely @makandmagic from Tattered Cover for our incredible little dragon friends. These cuties kept us entertained all evening and are now cherished additions to our libraries. 🐉🫶

Thank you, @tatteredcoverbookstore and @rebeccayarros, such an incredible evening celebrating the next installment in the world of all things Empyrean.

Two calligraphers described almost the exact same thing to me over the past couple of weeks.

One had been running her business full-time, went back to a full-time job, and is now thinking about going all in again. The other is picking hers back up after a pause.

Different situations, same feeling of overwhelm when looking at everything that needs to be done. 😵‍💫

What I’ve watched happen over and over inside Flourish in Biz is that the list barely changes.

Charlotte still had systems to build.
Jenn still had web copy to rewrite.
Alison still had to post on Instagram.

What changed for them was knowing which task came first, and why.

👉Once messaging is decided, the website stops being a blank page. You know what it needs to say and who it’s saying it to.
👉 Once the client experience is mapped, your systems have something real to run on instead of automating a guess.

Each decision makes the next one smaller, and easier to check off.

That’s why the same list that felt impossible in June feels exciting in September 💡

If your list has been sitting untouched for months, that’s not a discipline problem. It’s a sequencing one, and it’s fixable in a way that “try harder” never was 😏

Comment or DM me FIB and let’s put your list in an order that actually gets you somewhere 💪

I had a call last week with a calligrapher who’s been in business twenty years and has some systems in place. Partway through, she asked if this program would be overkill for her 👀

We dug into her business and I answered her honestly: No, because even though she’s twenty years in, she’s still carrying the whole thing herself.

👉 Being capable isn’t the same as having something built.

The calligraphers in this room have a beautiful range of experience. Some are veterans, some are a year or two in. Some arrive with systems and templates already going, some are starting their free HoneyBook trial that week.

What they share is that they built the business before the foundation was in place. And they’re all ready to stop reacting inside of it and start leading it ✨

None of them are short on confidence in their talent. It’s the business side that needs the TLC.

That’s what we build together in 12 weeks, in the same order, whether you’re one year in or ten. And that’s the relief of it. You stop standing in front of a list of twenty things trying to guess which one actually moves the needle.

Comment or DM me FIB and tell me which one of these is your business right now. I’ll show you what week one would look like for you 🤍

Our Fall Cohort kicks off September 7th! Enrollment closes September 4th. I’d love to see you inside! 🎉

Five years ago, a week like this wouldn’t have been possible.

I was drowning in weddings, undercharging but too scared to raise my rates because I didn’t think anyone would pay them, and losing track of client deadlines because everything lived in my head.

Stepping away for even a day felt impossible.

My wake-up call was hitting $100K that year and crying because I was miserable 😮‍💨

This week, as I worked from my parents’ deck, I kept thinking about everything my business has been through to get me here. A lot of hard, intentional decisions. A road that wasn’t always easy. But I’m really glad I stayed with it. 🙏

And everything I learned through it is the only reason I get to help other calligraphers find that same freedom inside Flourish in Biz. 🥹

I love this community and this program, and the only reason it exists is because I rebuilt my foundation in the right order in 2022. That’s what gave me the knowledge and the capacity to start working with other calligraphers.

Now I walk them through that same framework so they can take a week off in August and come back to a business that didn’t fall apart without them ✍️

Doors to Flourish in Biz are open! 🎉 Our fall cohort starts September 7, which means you’ll head into your holiday season with a business that can actually hold the work coming at it.

Comment or DM me FIB and let’s map out what your foundation needs first 🤍

Alison of @yoxlettering had the talent, but the business side didn’t match.

She was rewriting emails every time a new inquiry came in. She was reinventing the wheel with every client. Everything was living in her head, and it was never consistent because jobs were few and far between.

She’d post on Instagram, spend time making her website look more professional, and was doing all the things she thought she should be doing to grow her business.

It wasn’t until joining Flourish in Biz that things finally changed.

Now inquiries get answered fast, because she isn’t rewriting the same email from scratch and scrolling back through old threads to remember what she said last time.

Her pricing holds, because the experience behind it finally matches the work.

She does an hour of admin a day and spends the rest of it with her kids.

She’s on track to double her income this year.

And a few weeks ago she went and co-worked at a bar with another calligrapher, martinis included 🍸

This 👆 is what it looks like to stop doing all the things, and start building your business foundation in the right order.

🎉 Doors to the Fall Cohort of Flourish in Biz are officially open and I’m looking for 7 calligraphers to join us inside!

Comment or DM me “FIB” to finally get the business side matching the beautiful work you’re already putting out 🤍
