Today is our wedding anniversary but the butterflies are still in my belly as if we just started dating after watching The Roots, Mos Def and Talib Kweli tear down the Hammerstein. We own a house now but still find ourselves in the same room every time. We’re parents now but we still perriar like we’re at our favorite hookah lounge. We’re older (I mean I’m older, you’re still 21) but we’ve lost over (and maintained off) 200lbs together and feel better than ever. I still don’t know where the scissors are; you’re still always cold. You still say I monopolize the TV but you still refuse to find something to watch. 20 years ago this world lost a beautiful person inside and out
I remember as young girl trying to do my hair like hers and watching her on TV with my sister and parents and trying to mimic her dancing and singing 🎶🎼🎤
she was a great role model for us Latinas ❤️
