Last night, it all became real.

On September 11th, the Official R&B UK Chart launches.

This is a historic moment for UK R&B, and seeing so many artists, managers, labels, DSPs, broadcasters and members of the wider community come together reminded us exactly why this chart is needed.

The energy in the room was incredible, the turnout exceeded our expectations and the love for UK R&B could be felt throughout the evening.

A huge thank you to @komali_ldn , @_erichunter and @beccamonahan @officialcharts for joining our panel and sharing so much valuable insight and knowledge. Thank you to @rellikthadon for hosting the night, @stay__wavey for setting the tone with the music and the brilliant @savannahdumetz for an amazing performance.

Thank you to @thatgrapejuice team for your continued support, and to the entire ERNB team @kayahhazell and @janicialdn, for all their hard work behind the scenes to bring the evening together. @fay_hoyte thank you for your continued support and energy.

Thank you to @soulmamalondon for hosting us, @officialcharts for believing in the vision and, most importantly, everyone who came out and continues to support the scene.

This chart belongs to the whole UK R&B community, and it will take all of us to make sure it receives the recognition and impact it deserves.

We are offering one-to-one mentoring sessions as part of @bricklanejazzfestival conference. Thursday 23rd April.

This is for anyone who is looking for practical advice, industry insight or a space to ask questions that matter for your career in music. *This will be on a first come, first serve basis*

We are so excited to be joined by an incredible group of individualsAll have played a huge role in shaping the careers of countless artists across the music industry - creating opportunities, offering guidance and opening doors.

Every artist will have the chance to connect directly with these industry legends. We’re super proud to bring together these individuals that have had a lasting impact on so many artists journeys.

Alexandria Carr - Contemporary Music Programmer for the Southbank centre and programmer at Cheltenham Jazz Festival. She also works across broadcasting and talent development to promote diversity and emerging artists.

Naomi Palmer - Head of Earth Agency. Has helped develop the careers of influential artists including Flying Lotus, Moodyman, Thundercat + more!

Yvette Griffiths - CEO of NYJO. Yvette is a cultural leader and philanthropist, recognised with an OBE for championing UK Jazz and mobilising support for community organisations.

Lou Paley - Lou is the co-founder of award-nominated platform Women in Jazz, championing women across the UK Jazz industry through artist development and programming. Her work has brought collaborations to Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, Abbey Road and EFG LJF.

Fred Bolza - founder of New Soil, a label and management company building sustainable careers for Jazz and Jazz-adjacent artists. He also manages broadcaster and DJ Gilles Peterson and previously served as VP of Strategy at Sony Music.

Alison Farmery - Alison works with Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter supporting fundraising and advocacy for those working across the music industry. She previously held senior roles across international media including BBC news, NBC and Universal Music
