Hands down one of my favourite things about being in the gender equality space is the women I get to meet and work with.

I was DELIRIOUSLY happy in a very uncool way to FINALLY grab a drink with the amazing Kristine Ziwica (and of course @amy.l.blain who I adore), Executive Director of @now.aust and all around feminist bad ass. Look out patriarchy, we’re coming for you 🙌🏽 #Iwillnotbelecturedaboutsexismandmisogynybythisman #squadgoals

“I took the decision of being a florist in 2012, without knowing that it was a ‘feminine’ environment. I never understood why some people were surprised to see a young male florist, but I am driven by my passion before all of that. It is also funny to break the clichés. I hope that people who think that flowers are only for women can open their minds” – Damien

Tanvi Nangrani and Zahra Moinkhah are members of Young Women Speak Out, a Canberra advocacy organisation for young women. They addressed the ACT Legislative Assembly during discussions on consent law reform last week, saying that changing sexual consent laws to a “yes means yes” model would give much needed clarity to what constitutes consent. “Yes means yes. Let’s protect our society by implementing a consent law that acknowledges affirmative consent.” 📷: @wakeupsitt #consent #wearecbr #canberratimes #canberra #yesmeansyes

In light of JBish taking a step back recently, I dug up this photo to reminisce about the time I got to make my keeno face in her presence. I would never have been able to do this without the opportunity to participate and help run #GirlsTakeoverParliament
This year, it’s even bigger! Head to our website to be part of the largest political takeover in the world - link in the bio!

I get to work with some awesome, passionate people who campaign tirelessly to make the world a better and more equal place.
I’m so proud of the work we put in as @jasiriaustralia and @ywspeakout (specifically @amy.l.blain!) to get this letter together. The tampon tax is unfair and outdated and it’s time that a) the voices of young people who menstruate are heard & b) the tax is repealed!

Thank you to all who came on board to support, we look forward to continuing to grow the campaign until the job is done 🙌🏽#axethetax

It’s 2018. We know that menstruation is not a luxury! Do you really think women would like to be in pain and bleed uncontrollably for 3-7 days every month? @jasiriaustralia alongside our partners are calling on our leaders at both a state/ territory and federal level to #axethetax on menstrual products. ⚒💰
This tax disproportionately impacts women and for some, makes these necessary products unaffordable - we know this tax has a greater impact on women of low SES.
But the tax doesn’t just affect women, it affects many non binary and trans people as well.
The ability to scrap the tax is within our reach, with India being the most recent country to scrap their 12% tax on menstrual products in the last few days (👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 @shesaysindia @trishashetty for leading the charge). It’s time. We’re over it. Please help us spread the word - stop taxing my period. Thank you to all organizations who’ve thrown their voices and the voices of young women behind this campaign.
The decision to axe the tax is in the hands of a handful of people. Be on the right side of history. Let’s make it happen!

It was great to be part of the civil society consultation on the women peace and security National Action Plan today at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet! There was some really great discussion around some difficult topics and it was so interesting to hear the range of perspectives. This Plan is going to be a fantastic blueprint for Australia commitment to #UNSCR1325 #thefutureisfemale
