Yesterday someone said "Melva I had no idea, but how?" And so here I am on a plane writing an unplanned post.

If you are new here, my story is not just Paris and parties. There are some very lenghty chapters that involved depression, friends who staged an intervention to get me to leave an abusive relationship (it did not work, I stayed and left muuuch later), multiple sexual assaults/ rape that I held secret for years riddled with shame and the infertility yea that one still pops up from time-to-time. It still hurts to admit that there were 'friends' in my hardest seasons who left, gave up, and were embarrassed by me. They know who they are and now they conveniently want to talk given who I am now. Funny how that works...

When the person yesterday said she had no idea, she could not understand how I achieved anything after a little preview of my full story. I thought its time to run this back because IG should not just be a highlight reel. Everyone will hurt, heal, hope and experience joy.

In this moment, I am talking exclusively to the person who feels broken and is numbing the pain.

I see you.

I want you to do one of the hardest things I have ever done: Fight.

For those curious, this business exist in spite of pain. Life tried it and failed. I am professionally unshakeable/unstoppable because this purpose was always mine to live out.

Simply put, God did.
I followed.
It happens to be my turn.
And yes, Paris is a chapter but that's just one piece of the larger beautiful, complex story of Me.

So, if you are in a season of pain, know this.

▫️You WILL pass all your tests.

▫️Your testimony will be triumphant.

▫️Your next chapters will be epic.

And no, it will not come easy. This is not soft life. Its real life. Again you will have to fight. But on a random day you may be asked how you did it? You'll tell them you fought.

Consider this your reminder. You are meant to be. The world needs your gifts and I personally know God does not make mistakes.

Blessings to those that feel broken. #fight.

We’ve documented a ton of proposals, but this is one at @blithewold_ri we’ll remember for a lifetime.

At Jamal & Lashana Photography, shaping moments with intention and then giving them room to unfold naturally has always been part of how we approach a wedding day. This time, we had the privilege of taking that philosophy a little further.

We designed this setting AND photographed the story.

When Greg first reached out, he already had a clear vision for how he wanted this marriage proposal moment to feel. He had also done extensive research before deciding who he trusted to bring it to life. That alone meant so much to us.

Together, we found a setting that could carry the experience and designed with what was already there in mind. Soft colored florals, candlelight, and an open view of the coast. Every detail was intentional, while leaving room for the property and, eventually, the two of them to be at the center of it all.

An evening at @lululemon on Newbury St. surrounded by flowers, affirmations, and the most beautiful community of women.

We had the honor of creating a curated flower bar experience for Her Haven — an intentional women’s event hosted by @ladolcevita.bostonevents and @norakevents centered around wellness, softness, connection, and femininity.

Each guest received a hand-wrapped bloom accompanied by a personalized affirmation card. Watching women light up over a single flower was such a powerful reminder that beauty and kindness still move people deeply.

There was something incredibly special about this room. Women pouring into one another, connecting with strangers like old friends, slowing down long enough to feel present, seen, and celebrated.

Thank you to every woman who stopped by our flower bar and allowed us to be part of your evening. What a privilege it is to create experiences that people don’t just attend… but truly feel 🌸🩷
