I always feel so much gratitude doing this work. Don't get me wrong, it's not all fun and dandy all the time. I get frustrated at the plastic rocks, I have to ration skin and energy in my own climbing and training, I question my aptitude and usefulness as a climber and routesetter daily, and I will forever be poor. But always, i feel so grateful to do what i do.

Guest setting is one of my favourite privileges. i get to meet, collaborate with, and learn from awesome people AND play with holds i've never set with on new angles?? Always, yes.

It's an honour to be able to come guest set at Shift. We were so warmly welcome and so well taken care of. Hopefully we left the community with some bangers, and hopefully we'll get to do it again soon.

An unlikely place to have a climbing gym that is trying to challenge our relationship with climbing. A place where it is almost akin to a playground with more focus on play and fun, instead of our conceptual & perceptual ideas of difficulty and progression.

Guest setting is always such a privilege and a fun time. Thank you to the team @shiftclimbing for their continued hospitality, hard work, and engaging product.

Missing here but also @umami_tay , @chase.hoag , & Jonathan Brandt

Two weeks ago, our setters took the week off from setting to get some inspiration in the great outdoors! Arnold and @corey.buckner.39 clipped bolts in the Red while @dreadlockrockstar met up with friends to boulder in Southern Illinois. They all had great weather and not a single complaint! With Festivus happening next weekend (May 16), we will be holding off on setting today to do preparations for our event. The gym will be almost entirely turned over afterwards, so come send your projects now before they’re gone forever!
