Sun was bound to set on our whirlwind visit with Zac and his amazing community of friends in San Francisco. Valkyries, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and a Castro Street Fair all under fog-free skies.

Rare Bluegrass/WNBA twin bill Friday in San Francisco, reconnecting with old pals, enjoying mandolin dynamo Sierra Hull at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and then watching the pesky Valkyries rally from 15 down in the second half to beat Dallas in a do-or-die Game 3 in an absolutely electrified arena -- complete with confetti.

Steve Earle joked that he felt like Huck Finn at his own funeral. But it was a concert honoring his decades of songwriting at SF's Masonic Auditorium last night. Among the guests: Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne (far left), Hot Tuna, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Peter Rowan, Lukas Nelson and Molly Tuttle.

🌈 Reimagining what’s possible through sport.

Congratulations to Zac Brown, Executive Director of Pride House San Francisco and recipient of the 2026 BAHC Originators Award, presented by @genentech.

Through Pride House SF, Zac has helped create a new blueprint for LGBTQ+ inclusion at major sporting events — mobilizing an all-volunteer team to host more than 30 inclusive events and reach 3,000+ community members during the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup.

But the impact goes beyond the events themselves, with grassroots programs, wellness initiatives, coaching clinics and more than $100,000 raised to support inclusive spaces and local nonprofits.

This is what it looks like to turn big moments into lasting change.

Congratulations, Zac! 👏
