#ThreeDaysOff: This past weekend the second edition of @solasifestival came to life in the most amazing way.

At first glance Solasi is a yoga and wellness festival like any other, but deep down it's actually about so much more: passion, playfulness, disconnection, reconnection, reflection, love, friendship, humour, and happiness. To those who were there - thank you for spending #threedaysoff with us, for those who weren't, stay tuned for 2023 🌠

Special thanks to my team @yesyogaday & @thetrifactory, specifically @nourdemerdash @nadinekhouly @monabdelaziz who carried the load, our awesome co-organisers @osanafamilywellness, @__mama.bee__, & @doubledownyoga, all of the instructors who made Solasi a success with their passion and presence, and of course to @imissiri and the entire @somabayredsea team, who took a leap of faith and saw the magic in real life on their beautiful beachfront 🏖

Also check me out balancing @sherifademerdash 👀 easy stuff 😎

Our second edition of Solasi has come to an end, but it’s more of a see you later. We cannot thank everybody enough for trusting, believing in us and blessing us with their heartwarming energy. We’re feeling super grateful to have been surrounded by everyone’s wholesome and warm energy this weekend.

We couldn’t have done it without our beautiful team of facilitators and healers community.
We also want to thank Somabay for hosting us in their breathtaking space and CairoScene for the memorable and unique pictures.

Until next time…

Stay posted for more festival content and exciting announcements!

@scenetraveller LIVE from Day Three of @Solasifestival at Soma Bay on Egypt’s Red Sea

Over the last three days, sinking into our subconscious through an array of yoga flows and guided meditations has become as easy and comfortable as tilting our heads back into the water, muting the world around us, and succumbing to the serenity the crashing waves bring.

Actively choosing to practice self-reflection and introspection as the coloured tents of @solasifestival cloak us, propelled us to realise that while the peace of meditation is alluring, it is naught but a simple re-set button for our nervous system. Ringing our towels dry as we crash on another mat and contort our bodies to face the sun’s burnished light, only worked to further heal us.

As we muster up the courage to head back to the concrete jungle, we’re setting an influx of newly-discovered goals and boundaries to carry with us.

@scenetraveller LIVE from Day Two of @Solasifestival at Soma Bay on Egypt’s Red Sea

Simultaneously diving into the depths of your innermost self as you plunge into the Red Sea’s waters, is at times akin to a series of fictitious thoughts that confine themselves within page margins and inky pen stains. However, built to colour those dreams and render them visible is @solasifestival.

As day two beckons teary-eyed goodbyes, our camera roles spill endless images of the memories accumulated. Early mornings laced with perturbed heartbeats became a thing of the past as @solasifestival imbued our Friday with a deep sense of serenity.

We gathered in tents amidst golden sands, formed impenetrable bonds, and Yoga Nidra-ed our way back into our bodies post the whirlwind of transient experiences. Latent worries sept out our pores with every intensive breath taken and foetal position appropriated.

We loved our first day at Solasi and being surrounded by this beautiful community.

We’re so grateful for all the instructors and practitioners here with us. Seba graced us with her beautiful Tantra Hatha yoga practice alongside Amira Osman’s relaxing Yin and Poetry workshop. We followed with Omniya’s one and only Flow Hard! yoga, it left us super energised!

At sunset Ali El Alfy led a wholesome heart centering practice, while Luna took her attendees through a sound healing journey.

We cooled down with some staff spinning by the beach by Mellow Paw as Leo Oppenheim ran his holotropic breath work workshop.

We rounded the day with an enchanting drum circle session by Dima and an amazing Dj set by Jiffy!

@scenetraveller LIVE from Day One of @solasifestival Festival at Soma Bay on Egypt’s Red Sea

Very few can wholeheartedly admit to experiencing an aerial yoga class as their body is enshrouded in hand-painted art and their souls invigorated by sandy beaches and crystal-clear skies. Satiating the fantasy and feeding that lucid dream is @solasifestival. As we landed in Hurghada, we simultaneously departed on a new spellbinding journey of self-discovery.

Upon laying our strung-out heads on that first yoga mat and listening to the sound of our own heart rates steadying, we launched into what is surely going to be a three-day long escapade of bond-building and aura cleansing sunrises and sunsets.

@scenetraveller LIVE: @solasifestival take one 🎬

As we tend to every reclusive thought and situate ourselves ever so tentatively by Somabay’s pellucid waters and south Sinai’s reddened mountains, our time @solasifestival today saw no shortage of exhilarating workouts, group activities, and tranquil meditative states.

Propelling us to completely disengage, pause our rigorous routines, and rethink our relationship with our bodies and those around us; day one mimicked that of a denouement post heart-stopping upheavals. Everyone shoved socially age-restricted activities aside and united over body art, aerial silk, and sound healing rituals that all worked towards remedying childhood wounds.

@SceneTraveller x #SceneLifestyle: SOLASI FESTIVAL IS GIVING WELLNESS IN SOMABAY - HERE’S THE FULL LINEUP

A post-summer season wellness escape is needed and Solasi Festival is making sure we go back to reality fully-cleansed and healed. Osana Family Wellness and YesYoga are teaming up with a slew of wellness gurus for a three-day healing extravaganza from September 21st to September 24th amidst Somabay’s beautiful beaches and majestic mountains in Hurghada.

The festival is curating a lineup of workshops, classes, and holistic healing treatments to suit everyone’s interests and needs, from sunrise runs to drum circle classes, with ongoing wellness festivities across their Yin Stage, Yang Stage, Beach Solasi Playground and Workshop Tents.

Their holistic approach to healing takes us far away from fast-paced pre-packaged self-care and towards a more social event that works on our collective minds, bodies and souls. Their somatics muscle release therapy treatment by Suzy Kussner, voice touch therapy by Luna Pantalone and Chei Nei Tsang Massage by Seba Khanna - amongst others - sound like they could undo months of incessant partying and irregular back posture (thank you, office culture).

Solasi is also creating a learning environment through a curation of workshops led by renowned yogis, practitioners and healers. These include Amira Osman who’s instructing a poetry and Yin workshop, Leo Oppenheim who’s leading a holotropic breathwork workshop, and Nadia Tserbo with a moving meditation workshop. We’ve compiled a list of everything happening during the three-day zen-jam.
