It’s this time of the year
It’s time to celebrate showing up and committing
It’s time to feel it all and let it sink in
It’s time to acknowledge the process and harness the bundle of this phase
It’s time to appreciate and honor the bond, and realize when it’s time to detach with a full present heart
It’s time for something new, I don’t know what it is BUT…
It’s time
See you for the last weekend in Sahel with love and gratitude

On grief
For long enough I named it different things
For long enough I wanted it to be over
For long enough it felt so harsh and scary
Until I allowed it to be introduced to me first without judging it
That feeling of being unplugged indeliberately
That instinct that rises to resist that process
That fear of not knowing what’s gonna happen next
That sadness that roars when I realize I have no other choice
But then…
For the first time, I learn with ease
Believing it’s Allah guiding me through life for the better me, that was big
Acknowledging this process isn’t harsh, it’s more of uncomfortable
I never realized that at the gym with every new heavier weight I lift, I’m grieving something - not the lighter weight, but the strength that I used to think is my limit
Of course this feels easier to accept because I’m lifting the heavier weight which is a success
But what if the success is relating to the version of me that’s forming freshly, rather than the outcome which might change in a different day
What if I learn grief is a daily process that honors life and presence?
What if grief becomes more digestible the more I let it cook slowly?
What if I deal with grief is like my oldest friend literally?
Since the second I left my moms womb into the outer world, I met grief for the first time
I grieved existing selfishly inside my mums body for around 9 months with no disturbance
This is how old this relationship is, since the day I was born
It’s time to honor that friend and appreciate the privilege of experiencing life with and around
Honoring what once existed as present, allowing and giving space for what’s coming with a heart full of belief and faith
I love grief, because I love who I am today
Truthful, trustful, faithful and in love with this life
I’m grateful by @zag.onthemove
