When all your happiest times together have been exploring stone circles and the moorland…it makes sense that you want your wedding ceremony to be a celebration of nature, too.

So many alternative couples find it hard to choose a wedding venue because that’s what you do when you’re planning a wedding, right?

But the right wedding ceremony for you doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

If your wedding moodboard is decorated with pics of stone circles, folklore-inspired landscapes and handfasting…

Hello 👋 I’m Katie, a non-traditional wedding celebrant

I create magical ceremonies for alternative, folklore-loving couples in Manchester and beyond.

Things I love include:
Stone circles and ghost stories
Writing and reading gothic horror
Festivals (Glasto and Lost Village are particularly favourites)
Walking my Staffie on the moors and camping with my other half
Outdoorsy adventures

These photos of the wonderful Ella & Alex’s magical Saddleworth handfasting ceremony captured by @zainz

An absolute joy to be a part of.

Childhood dreams 💫 baby almi, you’re signing a professional contract with @hoka_eu 🥹

My reason for running has progressed from being driven by external pressure and validation to an internal challenge. This internal challenge has helped me continue when the external progress has been hard to see.

Sometimes, I put in the work and I am not rewarded with a complete piece. Will it ever be complete? I don’t know. But what I do know is that I can always look back and be proud of the moments where I’ve tried. And for all the beautiful people along the way 🧡

Top event, class field & a v fun ‘crit’ race circuit.

Proud that I committed early and got after it from the gun. Course proved to be quite technical with undulating twists and turns as well as cambered velodrome style corners which kept things interesting !

Pleased with the progress I’m making and this represents another positive step forward with things trending in the right direction. Excited to kick on from here now, onwards & upwards !

Folklore-loving couples! Ella and Alex’s wild, romantic handfasting was of a celebration of their own story and it featured local Saddleworth folklore, a wedding ring warming ritual and an oathing stone.

✨ Weaving the magic of the landscape and ritual into their wedding ceremony, they tied the knot between two hawthorn trees in the summer rain.

Ella & Alex’s wild, folklore-inspired handfasting in Saddleworth 🌿

They shared their handfasting promises on a hillside next to a stream, I told tales of local folklore and of course we celebrated their beautiful love story with plenty of laughter. Two kindred spirits who were meant to be.

Their friends and family (including lots of rock and metal musicians and Marilyn the little dog) gathered to share their special day in this place that holds so many happy memories for them.

We had an unplugged ceremony and @zainz captured the magic 📸 so I got some of these clips of the newlyweds after their ceremony was done, then they were off to the pub to celebrate!

A special mention goes to Ella’s cowboy boots which were absolutely iconic. Thank you @ellaaclarke and @razuhuzar I am so pleased that I got to be part of your big day and that our mutual love of folklore brought us together!

Happy Global Running Day 🌎 🏃 😊

Feeling very grateful to have this sport back in my life. It gave me so much as a kid in terms of discipline, work ethic, resilience, self esteem, confidence, identity and a network of people that share a mutual passion and interest. Couldn’t be happier to have rekindled my love for it.

Unrivalled free therapy and the 🐐 of all coping mechanisms, would highly recommend.

My first ever client photoshoot.

Kris and Aamar are just two normal guys with busy lives.

Kris has a young family. Aamar's juggling multiple jobs including a demanding research role.

Neither had ever properly gotten lean before.

They both committed for a full year — off seasons, diet phases, the lot.

And they both showed up and did the work.

This shoot meant as much to me as it did to them.

It wasn't a 12 week shred, it was 12 months of graft.

Proof that you don't need a perfect situation to get results. You just need a plan and the consistency to follow it.

If you're a normal guy, that wants to change but doesn't know where to start, drop me a DM
