August bank holiday weekend 26

Thursday: a very humid but scenic plod with @montonrunners. Such an amazing and welcoming group! Me and @linhh_1804 did caught in that horrific downpour just as we finished running. Nice of @louise_whitehouse27 to spot us whilst she enjoyed a lovely meal 😂

Saturday: 21km long run as part of Linh’s marathon training

Sunday chill with Millie and Mel (2nd slide)

Monday: Monton 5 miler. Legs were definitely fatigued from Saturday 🥱. Great local race. Nice and flat with a medal and goodie bag including hilly socks! First time doing it and will definitely be aiming to do it next year on fresher legs. Thank you @sportsfeet_run for a great morning! Followed by breakfast at Playfoots organised by Monton Runners. taken in Ellesmere Park Monton by @zainz

Earlier this year we sadly lost Lisa. She was loud, funny and most importantly supportive of everyone at Littleborough Runners.

On Saturday Todmorden Harriers (@todmordenharriers organised the 777 challenge in memory of David Wilson and Lisa Miles. The aim was to run as many 1km loops at Centre Vale Park. In total we ran 2182 laps and raised £3033.21 (beating last year’s record) for @overgatehospice who have been nothing but amazing.

Such an amazing day and honestly one of the reasons what makes the running community so great. taken in Centre Vale Park by @zainz

Sale Sizzler 26 - New PB! 18:17!

First 5k race in nearly 2 years (coincidentally the last time I did a Sale Sizzler)

I had 2 goals for this race: 1) finish and 2) sub 20

I managed both and a new PB! It was a pretty hot evening but proud that I hung on. Pacing needs work but really happy where I’m at fitness wise 😁. 19:35 was my last Sale Sizzler time.

Amazing to be on the start line with @rochdaleharriers in club colours ⬛️🟨🟥 taken in Wythenshaw Park by @zainz

Sale Sizzler highlights:

The first of the 2026 series certainly lived up to its nice! Very warm conditions but even hotter times with a lot of fast runners out on the course yesterday evening. @h.johnson03 from @salford_harriers took the win in 14:55 😳. Great running from everyone!

I was on spectating duties cheering on @rochdaleharriers

I might even lace up my shoes and give it a go! 😅

Elite running is a different level 🏃‍♂️💨

A few highlights from the elite race at the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10K, featuring the first male and female finishers alongside some of the world’s best athletes.

Watching these runners up close was incredible. You see the times on paper and know they’re fast, but seeing them in person really puts it into perspective. The speed, efficiency, and control they maintain over 10 kilometres is genuinely mind-blowing.

Huge congratulations to all of the athletes who took part and put on an incredible display of running.

🥊 LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE 🥊

Friday night looked a little different as me and @linhh_1804 headed to an amazing fundraising event for @weareblgc

(And yes… I may have had to slightly force her into the boxing pose photo 🤣)

Somehow we ended up winning one of the raffle prizes a signed Tyson Fury glove 😳🥊

Still slightly shocked we won it… now the challenge is figuring out where to put it 😅

Massive thanks to David Darlington & Fieldings Porter Solicitors for the invite great event, great people and for a great cause 👏

This morning me and @gareth_bright did our recce for Leg 18 of the Rochdale Harriers GM Ringway Relay challenge. The relay involves 199 mile (320km) of continuous running around the Greater Manchester Ringway.

We are doing this to help raise funds for @springhillhospice so I will share a donation link soon!

Massive thanks to Gareth for expertly navigating the route and getting us from the start at Irlam Station all through Dunham Massey and finishing at Altrincham Station.

It was also my first long run back from picking up n injury a few weeks ago and it’s definitely looking positive!

I’ve got an announcement to make…

I’m officially becoming a professional padel player 👀🎾

…kidding 😅

Had a great evening at the BNI Pioneers @bnipioneersmcr social at @deucepadel.uk and big thanks to Anna for organising a top event 🙌

Managed to grab a few shots in between games 📸

Andrew C & James R showed us how the pros do it while the rest of us beginners tried our best to keep up 🤣

Towards the end, the experts really put on a show including a diving shot from James R that definitely deserved a replay 👏

Also great finally meeting Simon B & James S in person! Always nice putting faces to names 🤝

The facilities at Deuce were quality and I’ll definitely need a few more sessions before the next one… for networking purposes of course 😅
