Two years ago @ryanhuckabee1 was a little-known 20-year-old from a sleepy beach town in Florida. Since then he’s released a full-length edit, qualified for the Challenger Series, paddled Jaws, and nailed a Wave of the Winter contender at flexing, first reef Pipeline... and he’s still just scratching the surface.

But most recently, Huckabee spent time with the @erraticnerve crew working on a short profile film for EN’s “Creatures” series. Hit the link in bio for our full interview and to watch the full film at Surfer.com ✍️: @zandermorton

If you grew up in Saint Augustine, Florida, you know three phone numbers by heart: Your Mom’s, your Dad’s, and The Surf Station Surf Report.

904.471.1122

Call that number right now and you’ll hear shop owner Tory Strange’s voice on the other line, reporting on the day’s conditions with the same colorful enthusiasm he’s had since he recorded his very first surf report back in 1984. Sure, he’s got a comprehensive surf report and multiple cams on his website these days, but what makes Tory and his shop special is he’ll never forget this humble beginnings.

For 41 years Strange and The Surf Station have been the bedrock of Saint Augustine’s surf community. It’s no secret that St. Augustine has produced a ton of talented individuals that have transcended sleepy St. Augustine to do big things during that time. Gabe Kling, Jimmy Wilson, Ryan Miller, Jake Burghardt, Dustin Miller, Jason Woodside, Lauren Hill… those are just a handful of the homegrown people crushing it in surf, media, art, film, etc.

What do all of these people have in common? (Besides a ton of talent, of course)? The Surf Station. They all spent varying amounts of their formative years in the shop. And while I’m not saying the shop is the reason for their success, it undoubtedly helped influence and inspire them along the way.

For as much as things have changed since 1984, the smiling faces inside The Surf Station still remain. And so do Strange’s daily call-in surf reports; hi-def surf cams be damned.

Everything above was written by none other than Zander Morton, who sits right alongside the list of humans mentioned above. Thanks Zander and the entire crew at The Surf Station.

Congrats from the crew at @redbull and Three Palms Tradeshow for being our highlighted shop of the month!
