#hosted | An intimate evening of Japanese artistry at NoMI. ✨

I was invited to preview HERITAGE SERIES: Japanese Artistry, the inaugural chapter of NoMI’s new Heritage Series at @parkhyattchicago — an immersive experience exploring the people, practices and artistry behind enduring traditions.

The evening brought together contemporary artist Dwight Hwang and the centuries-old Japanese art of gyotaku, a beautiful preview of NoMI’s culinary experience, and Japanese whisky from House of Suntory. We watched Dwight demonstrate the process behind his work before sitting down to three preview courses prepared by Chef Terence Zubieta and Chef Masa Adachi, with optional whisky pairings, followed by an incredibly special final tasting of Hibiki 30. We were also joined by House of Suntory Global Ambassador Davey Jones, who shared more about the whisky experience throughout the evening.

What stayed with me most was how the evening connected art, food and storytelling. It felt less like simply going to dinner and more like being invited into the creative process.

The full HERITAGE SERIES: Japanese Artistry takes place at @nomichicago on October 16 + 17, featuring a six-course seasonal omakase and live gyotaku demonstrations, with Japanese whisky pairings available as an optional addition.

And with just 18 guests each evening, this is an intentionally intimate experience.

Reservations are now open at the link in bio!

Feel the spirit of Cabo at @Hacienda_DelMar, a traditional colonial-style hacienda rooted in the local culture and history, while boasting spectacular seafront views and all inclusive comfort.

A perfect day for me includes walking up late and grabbing freshly-made green juice; taking a front row lounger at one of the 5 pools, all spread out along the border of the resort to maximize the sea view; indulging in delicious tacos at Tahona; then a cabana at the beach; and ending the night at the signature @PitahayasRestaurant known for authentic Mexican food. But do what you want to do, there are many other options for activities. Order all the food and drinks you desire, from healthy to less so. All inclusive means indulging in whatever you’d like - it’s all included.

@Hacienda_DelMar is in the hottest development in @LosCabosTourism at the moment, with the just opened @SohoBeachHouseLosCabos, @ParkHyattCaboDelSol and @FSCaboDelSol all next door. Plus, @AnimaVillageCabo is the place to shop. This is where everyone wants to be.

@Hacienda_DelMar is recommended for:
• people who love Mexican culture but also want resort style comfort
• anyone who wants to pay one price and not worry about additional costs (all inclusive)
• girls trips, friends trips, extended family trips and group trips in general
• @MarriottBonvoy loyalists including those who want to use their points for an award stay
• families

More in my “🇲🇽 Cabo26” highlights.

The Balloon Museum was one of my birthday stops, and honestly, I didn’t make a huge deal about my birthday this year. I was restricted from drinking for two weeks leading up to August 10th because I was scheduled for a spinal fusion that would turn into a 6-hour surgery.

So making the Balloon Museum one of my last birthday activities was honestly such a good choice! 🎈

It was SO fun, engaging, and immersive. Every room brought something completely different, and I loved being able to just have fun and enjoy the experience.

Because imagine going from unlimited balloons to a 6-hour surgery… Talk about making the most of your last birthday activity!

If you’ve been thinking about going, HURRY and get your tickets! The Balloon Museum will only be here until September 7th.

Trust me, you’ll want to experience this one for yourself. 🤍

I'm a longtime fan of Baja California Sur, and Loreto, the oldest city on the Mexican peninsula, has it all. Fresh seafood straight from the sea, historic missions, and a marine national park are just the beginning. Can not wait to return. What do you wear to an exclusive Japanese artistry dinner at NoMI? ✨

Tonight I’m heading to NoMI at Park Hyatt Chicago for a preview of HERITAGE SERIES: Japanese Artistry, so I wanted something that felt modern, elevated and still very me.

The look: an architectural Staud top I originally rented from Rent the Runway and loved enough to keep, black capri pants — because yes, they’re officially back — minimalist flip-flop heels, and the Polo Ralph Lauren Polo I.D. Small Studded Bag, currently in my RTR rotation.

This is exactly why I love renting for events: it gives me the freedom to experiment with designers, silhouettes and trends without buying a completely new wardrobe for every occasion.

Want to try it? Get 50% off your first month of Rent the Runway with code RTRxJBROWN. 🫶🏼

Now, off to NoMI for a night of Japanese artistry, craftsmanship and incredible food.

A six-course dinner calls for a makeup wear test. 👀🍸

Getting ready for tonight at NoMI meant putting some of my newest beauty finds to the test — including a few gifted launches from Sephora Collection and Armani Beauty, plus two new Chanel purchases I’ve been dying to try.

I went for a warm, tonal look with cinnamon blush, terracotta liner and a neutral lip — but the real question is: what’s actually going to survive six courses? 👀

THE PRODUCTS ✨

• Sephora Collection Shake & Sketch Brow Felt Liner — 03 Dark
• Sephora Collection Fluff & Fix Brow Wax
• Armani Beauty Dolci Blush Smoothing Cream-to-Powder Soft-Matte Balm — 04 Cinnamon Blush
• Sephora Collection 12HR Colorful Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner — 04 Matte Terracotta
• Chanel Les Beiges Volume and Definition Mascara — Black
• Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Liquid Lip Colour — 69 Tender Beige

Some products were gifted; Chanel products purchased by me. 🫶🏼

Now let’s see what survives dinner…

I recently returned from traveling Norway’s coastline with @havilavoyages, sailing from Bergen to Kirkenes with stops in Trondheim, the Lofoten Islands, Tromsø, North Cape, and countless coastal communities along the way.

With Minnesota home to one of the largest populations of people with Norwegian heritage outside of Norway, this was a fascinating opportunity to experience the country, its traditions, and its culture firsthand.

I’ll be sharing more from the journey, including life aboard Havila, Norwegian traditions, incredible scenery, and a few experiences I never saw coming. If Norway has been on your travel list, I hope these stories inspire you to make the journey yourself.

Traveling Norway’s coast aboard @havilavoyages introduced me to places and experiences that honestly weren’t on my travel list before I arrived. After this journey, I think they should probably be on yours.

Along the way I explored the Lofoten Islands by inflatable speed boat, rode an ATV across North Cape, spent the night at the Snowhotel Kirkenes, and visited coastal communities I likely never would have discovered on my own. That’s what makes Norway’s Coastal Route so memorable.
