For our album release party, we filled the walls with behind-the-scenes photos from the making of MOANA: VOICES ACROSS THE OCEAN. We wanted the room to hold more than the celebration. We wanted it to hold pieces of how we got there.

These are only a glimpse of the moments and the people who brought this album to life. The studio days, the laughter, the work between the work, the families who came along, the friendships that grew into family and all the little moments that became part of something much bigger than any one of us.

No collection of photos could ever hold every person, every moment or every contribution that shaped this album. But we hope these give you a little window into the heart behind it.

To our incredible artists, our partners at Disney Music, and every single person who had a hand in bringing this together, we couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you.

This album will live on, and so will everything that was poured into it.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this with us. We love you.

The music of Samoa took center stage at the Moana World Premiere 🇦🇸🔰🐓🇼🇸

During the taualuga at Disney’s Moana World Premiere at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, two cherished Samoan songs filled the venue: Vi’i o Falealili and Ta’ū Manu’a.

1. Falealili Uma
2. Loloma le Tai o Alo

The cultural presentation was assembled by Tiana Liufau and Kayla Fa’amaligi, who also appointed Isaiah Mauga as Music Director for this special performance. Tama’ita’i dressed Seiuli Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia, bringing Maui and Moana to life through beautifully crafted Pacific attire.

Representing both Samoa and American Samoa, these songs carried generations of culture, pride, and identity onto a global stage, reminding audiences that our music is more than performance. It is history, storytelling, and home.

For many in our community, hearing these songs performed at such a historic moment made the celebration even more meaningful.

From the islands to Hollywood, our voices continue to be heard. 🌀🌍🌊🌺

Yes, it's a live band. Here they are performing the final moments of the medley with “Uo Moni.” This was during soundcheck, the mics weren’t even on yet—but that didn’t stop us. 🙃

The TAMA'ITA'I house band is led by none other than SoCal legend Isaiah “Zaya” Mauga, joined by vocalists Deborah Porotesano, Jesilia Leaupepetele, and Mara Toluao, with Andrew Fa’atoalia on bass and Jeremy Mata’u on drums.

I affectionately refer to them as “Zaya & The Slayaz.” As for recording a track, please help me convince them to do so. I've been begging Zaya to record an album for literally 9 years now. Join the fight lol
