May 5th, Liberation Day is the national holiday on which we celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945.

Especially with the current situation in Europe we all should be extra appreciative of this. Freedom is not a given. Cherish it if you have it. Fight for it if someone threatens to take it. Do everything possible to protect it. Never forget!

Do you ever get the birthday blues? None here today but sometimes, it is hard to be super excited about getting older….am I right?!?! And if I am being really honest, the 30th is just a hard day all around. Five days after Christmas and the day before New Years Eve. People are traveling, tired or gearing up for a big celebration.

But this year came with an extra bonus! Somehow I had convinced myself that I was a year older than I actually am and the ENTIRE year I said I was a year older, even when filling out paper work. Luckily, my (twin) brother set me straight today and WOW….it made it the BEST day ever! I gained a year! Whoop whoop!

And of course I blame it all on Covid with feeling like I lost a year and and then shooting two years in one had me all mixed up….but I will take it!

Has anyone else ever lost track of your age?!? 🤣🤣🤣

Proudly sharing some great work I did this month with a very talented crew. Going to be raving about this for the rest of the year. Serendipity. Stay tuned for a more thought provoking post about this with more nerd level annotation to come.

Planned before a spike in COVID cases, a very talented crew came together in San Francisco. Wardrobe, set, props, hair, and makeup. 26 people over two days built and transported sets to paint the portraits in rich detail and allegory. Rapid tests, masks air filters & humidifiers. Everybody had a backup, even Michelle! A scrappy work ethic and can-do attitude were a highlight of making something we can be proud of. I stole my wife's clothing, and other household items were thus borrowed. This was a case study in contingency planning in the era of COVID.
