Newsday's @andiberlin says: I will always be a carne asada evangelist, but a trendy new style of tacos has had me questioning my allegiance to fiery charred beef on a flour tortilla. This style of steak taco has been taking over New York City this year, but it comes via Mexico City with a little northeastern Mexico mixed in. The name has not yet been completely crystalized, but for now we're going to call these rib-eye tacos, or "slap" tacos, although residents of Mexico City apparently refer to them as "boujee tacos." The meat is not chopped or charred like Sonoran carne asada, but presented in one long, thin slab of beautiful, juicy steak. This makes each bite delicate and suave, with less char and crunch but more focus on the quality of the meat and the earthy corn tortilla. So disappointed got here late to try new bread for Philly cheesesteak by @zeebos__ , ugh damn soccer practice… but my mind and palette is refreshed with this Spanish burger… and glass of the Oktoberfest ….every bite of this burger was delicious and so flavorful and them peppers added the punch… winner winner …

Bright Eye Beer Co 📍Long Beach, NY @brighteyebeer Bright Eye has been on our list to go to for a while now, and we finally made it out to Long Beach to see what it is all about. The brewery is family-owned and designed with vibrant colors, giving it that Long Beach feel. It has a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of room at the bar and additional tables. The beer was excellent, we especially really enjoyed the Morning Sun Fruited Sour with guava and key lime, their Nitro Irish Stout, and their Coconut Golden Stout. THE FOOD @zeebos__ has taken over the kitchen and has officially earned the crown for the best food that we’ve ever got at a brewery. The ribeyes tacos were insane, the chicken Caesar salad was wrapped in the most perfect tortilla and the chicken was fried to perfection, the fries were huge with great textures, and the burger was lights out. 🏆🥇 Go check them out!

Cheesesteak Tuesday at @zeebos__ !💣 Best I’ve had!. Perfect amount of cheese to meat ratio, with nice size pieces of onions and peppers on fresh seeded sourdough bread. They’re using the highest quality meat from Pat LaFrieda, and it shows in their food. They also have the most amazing fries with the crispy outer layer and the fluffiest inside. We got the ribeye tacos as well which were really good and spicy! 💥Check their page to see what they’re making daily.
