I didn’t understand why this worked… until I learned this.

This is Nadi Shodhana , alternate nostril breathing, a traditional pranayama practice.

We spend so much of our day rushing, scrolling, thinking and reacting that we rarely give ourselves a moment to simply slow down.

Nadi Shodhana brings your attention back to something you always have with you , your breath.

The practice involves gently alternating the breath between the left and right nostrils, creating a simple rhythm that can help you settle your attention and cultivate a calmer state of mind.

You don’t need a complicated routine.

Start with 3–5 minutes.
Sit comfortably.
Breathe gently.
Never force the breath.

And the next time your mind feels scattered, instead of immediately reaching for your phone…

try reaching for your breath. 🧘🏽‍♂️

Save this for later.

Using a chair here because backbends are not something you just drop into cold. This kind of prep opens up the chest, loosens tight hip flexors, and gets your shoulders ready to actually support you in poses like wheel or camel.

Take the shortcuts out, do the prep, protect your spine 🙏

Save this for your next backbend flow 🔖

Nobody tells you this about yoga. The pose looks calm and effortless but every muscle is fighting for its life underneath that smile 😭

I’m currently deep into my 200hr yoga teacher training and learning fast that “looks easy” and “is easy” are two very different things.

Drop a 😅 if you’ve been there. And be honest, does this look easy to you? Try it and tell me how long you lasted 👇

Ashtanga Vinyasa Surya Namaskara B - one continuous flow of breath and strength, no pauses in between. This is the kind of practice that builds discipline on and off the mat. 🔥🧘‍♀️

Want to learn the full sequence, breath by breath? Follow along, more breakdowns coming soon. 🙏

Today’s yoga teacher training session was sound healing. Singing bowls, vibration, frequency, and aura clearing, a completely different kind of practice from asanas or meditation alone. We spent the class learning how sound therapy works on the body and mind, how each bowl carries its own frequency, and how stillness can come from vibration just as much as from silence.

Everyone walks into a 200hr YTTC expecting intense asana practice from day one. Backbends, arm balances, sweat. Nobody really tells you it starts with theory.

Before the intense practice comes slow warm ups, hours of notes, homework, self study and yoga philosophy. You learn why you move before you’re allowed to move fast. Foundations of Hatha yoga, pranayama, meditation, all of it comes first.

This is the part of yoga teacher training nobody posts about. And honestly, it might be the most important part.

Day 1 down, 24 to go. Nobody tells you the hardest pose of the day is getting out of bed at 5am.
