Hayden’s best burn ever achieved thanks to camp mom, Izzy and The Lonely Reef Camp.

On burn night, a random man in a bowler hat opened his briefcase and presented Dallas, on behalf of The Lonely Reef Camp, an entirely fictional award for excellence (last image). We received the 130th one of 250. I couldn’t be prouder and more full of love.

Here is a lantern I made for the @_thelonelyreef_ art car. Eventually the top will light up too and Continuing the aquatic lifeform theme it will shine a pool of psychedelic light patterns in front of this car like a lil playa beacon luring the transfixed curious. Thanks @emiliopincheira for the lovely oxidized copper paint job, and the whole Lonely Reef crew, @zeve.cohen @haydencarey_ Kevin Sennot and everyone else that has contributed to this magical vehicle. Such an honor to be able to collaborate add to this sick project

What an incredible opening weekend at CURRENTS 2026. It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces exploring the festival, experiencing performances, and connecting with artists from around the world!

The festival continues through June 21 with exhibitions at the festival as well as Offsite Experiences unfolding across Santa Fe. This Friday, join author Henry Lien for a conversation exploring how Eastern and Western storytelling traditions shape the way we experience art, film, and culture. Presented in partnership with @cosmicforces @stagecoachfdn Supra Sonic Studios and @santafeecondev

We can’t wait to see you back at the festival!

“Listening to the Ether” by Testu Collective @testucollecive is a sound installation using magnetic drum machines and electromagnetic induction to generate rhythmic audio through rotating magnetic fields rather than traditional percussion.

“Twenty Twenty-Five” by Ghazal Majidi @ghazalmajidi.studio is an interactive digital mirror that reconstructs viewers’ reflections using imagery from contemporary airstrikes, confronting the transformation of distant violence into consumable visual data.

“Selected Places to Sit” by Chris Mcdowell @ableton_moods is a sculptural series that transforms hand-drawn seating illustrations through AI-generated 3D modeling and printing, celebrating the strange and imperfect interpretations produced by machine learning systems.

“Organising Principles of Experience” by Gabriela Tropia @gabrielatropia is a film project created in collaboration with an AI model trained on the writings of experimental filmmaker Maya Deren, exploring memory, digital resurrection, and the ethics of recreating artistic legacies through artificial intelligence.

“The Lonely Reef” by The Lonely Reef Crew (Hayden Carey @haydencarey_ Zeve Cohen @zeve.cohen) is a large-scale art car sculpture inspired by deep-sea organisms, transforming an airplane tug into a mobile communal environment designed to inspire wonder and connection at Burning Man.

“Eye of the Storm” by @zeve.cohen. Maybe the most grand lamp in the show at 75” x 60”. This took an incredible amount of work!

Wall hanging light emitting sculpture inspired by the relationship between boundless creative energy and the self-imposed and technical restrictions of bringing a creative concept into the physical world.

Zeve Cohen is a Santa Fe–born, Philadelphia–raised multidisciplinary designer and artist with a passion for immersive installation and industrial arts. He merges digital design and fabrication with traditional creative mediums to inspire curiosity and foster human connection. Zeve’s work draws from the natural world, examines the evolving relationship with his own creative process, and reflects on human relationships. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Zeve has been working as a Designer and Fabricator for Meow Wolf, where he develops interactive and sculptural elements for future exhibitions.
