Rejection is the price you pay for success.

You’re going to hear NO.

A customer will choose someone else.
You’ll get passed over for an opportunity.
A coach may cut you, bench you, or decide you’re not the player they want.

It hurts. But that moment doesn’t define you.

Your response does.

Do you quit? Blame the coach? Blame the customer? Blame the circumstances?

Or do you ask:

What can I learn? What can I control? How do I get better?

That’s The Adversity Advantage.

Sometimes rejection becomes the fuel you needed to work harder, improve your game, change your strategy, and prove—to yourself—what you’re capable of.

People watch how you win.

But they really watch how you respond when you lose.

Some will. Some won’t. So what? Next.

Imagine that every person you meet has an invisible sign on their forehead that reads:

“I Am the Most Important Person.”

How would that change the way you greeted them?

The questions you asked?

The way you listened?

When you make every interaction about the other person instead of yourself, everything changes. Conversations become deeper. Trust grows faster. Relationships become authentic.

Whether it’s a customer, client, patient, coworker, or family member, make them feel seen, heard, and valued.

People may forget what you said, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel.

That’s The Adversity Advantage. Turn every interaction into an opportunity to make someone feel like they matter.

Why do I use a Louisville Slugger in my presentations?

Because the bat is a reminder that focus determines performance.

When you focus on the wrong end of the bat—the things you can’t control—you lose your balance, your confidence, and your ability to perform.

The bat grounds us.

It reminds us to focus on the task at hand, our preparation, our attitude, and our effort.

That’s where The Adversity Advantage begins.

Stop giving energy to things you can’t control.

Start mastering the things you can.

That’s how adversity becomes your superpower.

The Professor of Sales Formula

Customer Obsession = Curiosity + Dialogue + Value

* Curiosity builds understanding.
* Dialogue builds trust.
* Value builds relationships.

And as you remind your students:

People buy from people they trust. They will waste time talking to people they like, but they’ll invest in people who consistently make them better.

This framework also aligns naturally with your simplified sales methodology:

Approach → Dialogue → Close

If you master the Approach through curiosity and the Dialogue through listening, the Close becomes the natural outcome of creating value. #obsessed #curiosity #value #dialogue #customer
