This week, I confirmed that security isn’t the absence of distance — Regardless, it’s the ability to find and choose each other again, and again, and again…

Love lives in effort, presence, and emotional availability — when someone shows up with intention for support, love and make surprise gestures like that, it delivers (yeah, all the way from Istanbul).

Sorry boys, but us women have the upper hand here in the capacity for care, intentional connection and all other magical forms of love-making 🔥🔥🔥 those in the know will know 😘

Some fail to recognize it — others live it.
Luckily, I never fail to recognize it ✨

I love you too, babe ❤️ @elifozguder
I’m in it.

Introducing our community art program in Hervanta, next up:

Hervanta Stories📖

⏲Thursdays 9.10. - 6.11.2025
📍At Hervanta Libary: Raili/Reima hall, 4.30-6.30 PM

Explore Hervanta as a living text — where the city shapes words, symbols, and stories. In this workshop series, participants use creative writing, archives, and art to uncover voices of a place and its identity. Write micro-stories imagining the past or the future, create an illustrated ‘memory’, dabble into slam poetry, write ‘urban manifestos’ and create collaborative zines. It’s Hervanta story time!

This workshop is hosted by Tampere Intercultural Art community artists Zeynep Kaynar @zeykaynar and Cici Liu @blackpoppy_cici . The workshop is hosted in Finnish and English.

Free and open to everyone!

This cultural happening is made possible by the Operation Pirkanmaa programme, a cultural network of municipalities. #OperationPirkanmaa #MunicipalCulturalNetwork #CulturalEvent @tamperekaupunki #Tampere #MyHarrastus

Have you heard?
💥TIcAS is the community art program provider of Hervanta until December 2025!💥

What does it mean?
The City of Tampere Public Cultural Services is coordinating a community art project in three Tampere areas this autumn: Tesoma, Multisilta-Peltolammi, and Hervanta - and we were selected to provide communal activities for the good people of Hervanta!🎉

From tomorrow 6th of October onwards you can join our workshops and events on:

📍Mondays at Etelä-Hervanta School
📍Thursdays at Hervanta Library

Workshops take place between 16:30-18:30 (apart from a few exceptions).

Find the updated program and details in our Linktree and Public Calendar (links in bio).

❤️For the nature of this project is to develop activities together with the community, we invite you to share your thoughts and ideas about Hervanta. Comment here, DM or email info@ticas.fi - or hey, just stop by!👋

IWWOF Tampere x TIcAS Book Club met yesterday for discussion about The Membranes by Chi Ta-wei.

First published in 1995, this timeless book is a classic of queer fiction literature in Chinese. It deeply speculates over bounds of gender, memory, self and reality in a dystopian trope. For those who missed opportunity to read it, this is a strong recommendation to delve into The Membranes, you won’t regret it.

Next up, we decided to skip the book dedicated for October and prioritize the selection of November Sempre Susan: A Memoir of Susan Sontag. We considered Wolf Hall would be very long to tackle at the moment, chose to stay gentle and stick to a shorter piece for this month 🍂🍁

🏃🏻‍♀️📚📖 Our upcoming meeting will take place on the 16.10.2025, 17:30-19:00 at TIcAS. Regardless whether one finishes the book or not, we agreed on meeting that day and see whether if we keep reading somehow the book is not finished by then.

Impromptu sauna gatherings, we will post on whatsapp group (ideally on weekends) until next time, stay in touch and have a lovely start to October ❤️🍎🍁

A group of art professionals from Finland is visiting Istanbul, Turkey, this week! The curated visitor programme allows participants to dive into local contemporary art landscape and initiate new collaborations by meeting key actors, visiting museums and galleries, and attending the 18th Istanbul Biennial @istanbulbienali preview.

The participants include independent curator Taru Elfving @taru_elfving, Curator Ilari Laamanen @ilarilaamanen from Malva – Lahti Museum of Visual Arts @malvamuseo, Art Researcher and Critic Sini Mononen @sinimononen, Head of Curation Itha O’Neill @ithaoneill from Amos Rex @amoskonst , Director of Helsinki Contemporary @helsinkicontemporary Olli Piippo @olli_piippo, Curator Pernilla Wiik @pernilla.m.wiik from EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art @emmamuseum, and Project Manager Ellinor Zetterberg @ellinoralette from Frame.
