This may or may not be my last post about @freedombraiders but it is my OFFICIAL! 🤣 I am and will be FOREVER THANKFUL to the @freedombraiders for the “Art of Braiding” Expo and my experience as a whole in San Francisco! When I tell you it was a ROOM OF HEAVY HITTERS from the Braiding Industry! IT WAS A ROOM FULL OF HEAVY HITTERS!! I met sooooo many of my inspirations! So many people who I follow and get inspired by daily! So many CELEBRITY BRAIDERS who told me….I WAS ONE OF THEM! That part had me 😭 Like what?? ‼️ You’re putting me at the same level?!? WHAT? I’m a pioneer in the industry?! WHAT? ❗️You follow me and get inspired by ME?!? WHATTTTTT?!? Someone wake me up! I am dreaming ! It was everything I didn’t know I needed! My heart is full, my soul is FULL and refreshed! I felt the love and tbh, it wasn’t something I was used to (San Antonio don’t show love love like this!) but something I will be FOREVER THANKFUL for! Too make it even better, I got to go inside Alameda County Jail and make a difference! AND MAKE HISTORY! How?!? By being the BIGGEST group of instructors to be cleared to teach the BIGGEST MIXED Group of inmates at Santa Rita County Jail with ZERO ALTERCATIONS! I was able to teach women incarcerated how to braid, talk about different things they can do to BUILD a braiding business, and really have an IMPACT! It also made me so thankful to realize that again, that I am able to not only help build the braiding community in Texas, but ACROSS the NATION! I was also 1 of 2 Male Braiders who got to participate! Shoutout to my Texas brother @laiology! And shoutout my Texas sisters @queenofthesouth512 and @braidsbybeckaa , bc we really had a 4 Texas braiding legends in one place! It was an experience that was everything that I DIDNT KNOW I needed! And tbh, I cannot wait until we do it again! It has definitely made me think…about…the return of … THE TEXAS BRAIDER SHOWCASE! Last post for freedom braiders expo‼️‼️ My braid family and I had the pleasure to go into a facility to teach inmates to braid and also we offered a chance to get their hair braided‼️ We were the first to bring the largest group of instructors to conduct a class and also had the largest class, we had a good time with the inmates joked, laughed, cried and braided they were all so sweet‼️ Can’t wait to make this even bigger than what it is all braiders should experience this so we can let the inmates know there are other routes go to make their money and we can visit these facilities and actually teach them a little something to take home with them and encourage them that’s it’s going to be okay. Thank you @freedombraiders for inviting me and letting me experience this‼️ Let’s go on tour😅

Being surrounded by so many influential, talented and intentional artists/people fed my soul in more ways than words can explain.
