I’ve had such a hectic week that I haven’t had the chance to share this amazing news! I made it into the Top 100 Braids and Twists for @behindthechair_com @oneshothairawards, a GLOBAL hair show! I didn’t know if I would make it this year bc there was so many beautiful designs being entered alongside mine! I’m incredibly thankful to be in the Top 100 and to be among so many talented braiders and artists. It’s unbelievable that I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many of these gifted individuals. Ahh, I’m so excited!

Shoutout to @braidsbybeckaa @queenofthesouth512 @jayybuggg_ @esthersbraids @queenatheartbraids @__thelasthairbender @braidsbyshorty @agnes_does_hair @bellas_blendzandbraids @officialhairbycoco @jenibraids44 for all being Top 100! So happy for us!

Mannn….there I was; Braiding my client and watching a movie when I got a text that said CONGRATULATIONS and to check IG ASAP! (S/O @deadlysinfulbraidingco 🙏🏾) I paused, and when I opened IG I was SHOOK! I was able to place TOP 100 Braids & Twist 2023 for one of the BIGGEST AND GLOBAL HAIR SHOWS to date, @oneshothairawards @behindthechair_com !!!

I honestly couldn’t believe it, but I am soooo thankful! Plus it was great to see so some of my fellow braiders also place! Everyone had such amazing designs!

Now, I’ll be honest, this has definitely done something to my soul! Prior to the closing period for entries I was feeling a little down and out. I was finding myself questioning my own skill set, but I knew that if I didn’t at least enter that I would regret it! And I’m happy I did! Thank you so much @hinescb for allowing me to create this piece , and many others! (Fun Fact: After about a year of sitting in my chair, I found out @hinescb was my cousin!)

Definitely something that I’m proud of! And THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me, sat in my chair, or referred a client 🙏🏾🙏🏾

The braids you see in the audience? I DID THOSE TOO. 💪🏽🔥

Art isn’t limited to a canvas. Sometimes, the canvas is HAIR. ✨

I remember thinking, “YOU have to make them remember!” So I decided to step outside the box and turn my craft into part of the experience.

As a braider, I’m always looking for new ways to push creativity, create unforgettable looks, and show people that there are NO limitations to art.

Just going after the things you love, creating your own experiences, and having FUN along the way! 🙌🏽

Maybe it’s my Autism, but I genuinely LOVE me some MUSIC! 😂🎶 So being able to get behind the DJ booth, catch a vibe, and jam out with a big group of friends — because in the clurb, we all fam! 😂 — is really a dream come true.

And when everybody is MOVING to the music?! BABYYYY… that’s the feeling! 🔥🕺🏽💃🏽
