Just like that all the cherry boards I finished Friday were sold out over the weekend. Just picked up double the double the cherry I got last time.

I started working on milling down the rough lumber right away. Helical head cutters on the jointer and planer make easy work of this cherry!

Our baby Kira has been having a really tough week. From our trip through the Midwest to California. Kira was bit by a tick somewhere along the way. The tick gave her a disease called Erlicihia, which took about 1-2 months to develop symptoms. The Dr thought it was fungal or bacterial pnuemonia originally then we got the tick test past positive for Erlichia.

Difficulty breathing, Lethargy and her joints hurt so bad she looked like she was walking on eggshells. When we got to the vet she was doing ok, we ran some tests and didn't discover anything right away. Her breathing got worse over night so we brought her back to the ER and were referred to VCA West LA, expensive but they have a great team of Dr's who were very informative and knowledgeable about what was going on with her. Well worth it imo.

We confirmed the Erlichia and started treating antibiotics. Her breathing continued to get slightly worse and she had to be put on Oxygen for 3 days, this was caused by bleeding from the low platelets that were caused by the tick disease. Her platelets continued to drop slightly til yesterday when we got the good news she doubled her platelets and began oxygenation on her own.

She's finally home, breathing has improved since we brought her home, were still waiting on blood tests to ensure her platelets keep going up.

We are taking advantage of the time we get to spend together with nothing holding us back. We're gonna have ourselves a mini honeymoon to as many national parks, monuments, and forests we can see!! After spending a week back home with family, even though it was for a sad reason, we feel so lucky and beyond grateful for the families we have and acquired along the way! We love and miss you all, we can't wait to see you next time!!

Driving in the Angeles National Forest on New Years Eve and this Honda almost drifts into our lane and almost hit the car and cyclist behind us.
