POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today would have been Auguste van Pels’ 126th birthday.

For the third time, I have the privilege of stepping into her shoes in Stan Zimmerman’s LatinX production of The Diary of Anne Frank. (@zimmermanstan) Though a young Anne cheekily called her Mrs. VanDaan in her diary.

Stan’s lens has always connected this story to immigration, displacement, and what happens when people are told they no longer belong. As a Latina actor, returning to Auguste now feels especially urgent.

We say Never Forget because we are supposed to recognize the warning signs. And yet, we are watching people once again be dehumanized, families separated, immigrants targeted, and fear used as a political weapon.

Art is one way we push back. We remember. We tell the story. We refuse to look away.

So on Auguste’s birthday, I return to her—not simply as “Mrs. Van Daan,” but as a real woman who wanted what we all want: her family, her home, her dignity, her future.

Never forget means never again. And never again requires us to pay attention now.

I will be Performing at the Historic Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles. The Latin x production of “The Diary Of Anne Frank will be performing inside the new Goldrich Cultral Center theatre. This production will be the first play to perform on the new stage. It still doesn’t feel real, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity. Life outside of acting has been full of gut punches but blessings like this coming out of nowhere have been very healing for the soul healing ❤️‍🩹.Thank you Stan @zimmermanstan . Working along side some heavy hitting actors .

My name made it on the Broadway world article alongside some heavy hitting actors with awesome credits.

I have a whole story about this but I’ll just say…. Always expect the unexpected. This is truly the greatest blessing I’ve received while working in this crazy world of acting.

The most perfect night with the most perfect people and the most delicious food by @brookesworld. Not enough videos or pictures because the night was just filled with laughter, a performance (or 2) by my daughter, and so, so much love. Thank you to all who came to celebrate. I truly adore you all!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️[AD/GIFTED] @zimmermanstan powerful sixty-minute production of @rightbeforeigotheplay at the @sohotheatre offers a deeply personal and resonant theatrical experience.

While the subject matter is undeniably heavy, the carefully constructed script successfully balances difficult truths with occasional humour, incorporating insights from both well-known figures and everyday voices.

The exceptional five-person cast navigates complex and sensitive topics with remarkable grace, prompting visible emotion throughout the audience.

An invaluable post-show discussion, featuring the cast alongside professional mental health support, added profound depth to an already impactful afternoon.

This production is highly recommended, extending far beyond those personally affected by suicide to offer a vital perspective for all audiences.
