Cats out of the bag now! After last month’s successful UK industry reading, I’m headed to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the month of August with my TRWPLAYS “Right before I go.” So many to thank for creating this bucket list for me. Major details to come, including our exciting casts. Taking my mission to provoke conversation and hopefully save lives global! Tkts/info: www.pleasance.co.uk

Before every show, my cast huddles on stage to share what this production means to them. This time will be different. These lines from the play stopped us cold in rehearsal recently. How did playwright Wendy Kesselman know in 1997 that these words would be our new reality? Not even in 2018, when we first started performing this piece, was it this bad. We’re way past “Never Again”. Only one night with seats available. Tkts/info: www.eventbrite.com

What are the odds that two shows featuring LatinX actors in the role of Anne Frank would be opening on the same day, this Sunday? Albeit on opposite sides of the country. Very different approaches and styles, but it shows how this young girl’s words are still so relevant today. Break legs to the cast & crew of SLAM FRANK as we continue our East Coast/West Coast heated rivalry! Tkts only available for our Sun Oct 4@2pm show. Info: www.holocaustmuseumla.org

In 2018, when I came up with the idea for my unique casting and staging of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, I heard it from all sides. Even got death threats. Thanks to Bill Hinkle & Brooke Baldwin, I was invited on CNN to explain my concept. These specific actors were putting their feet in the shoes of these characters to experience the similarities AND differences. Obviously I have “Wizard of Oz” damage. Come see what all the buzz is about! Tkts only avail for Sun Oct 4@2pm. www.holocaustmuseumla.org

As World Suicide Prevention Month comes to a close, I’d like to say how honored we were to be a part of SoHo Theatre’s Edinburgh Transfer Season. I’d especially like to acknowledge those on stage and off who stood by me, stayed on message and never got caught up in ego or innuendo. My play highlights the harm of bullying, so how could we cancel or postpone this production when there’s still so much work to be done in raising awareness about mental health and suicide? Maybe some day I’ll talk more about all that went on. But for now, I just have two words for y’all — Thank you!

Excited to be directing in NYC again. Reuniting with playwright Andrew Heinz on another staged reading. Also reuniting with long time friend Jonathan Penner. We met as teens at a summer theatre camp in New Hampshire. And we’re so lucky GILMORE GIRLS alum, Emily Bergl, is taking a day off from her Broadway stint in JUST IN TIME at Circle in the Square (my alma mater) to join our cast. Sun Oct 11 @7pm. Bank Street Theatre. DM me if you want to attend.

Talk about a full circle moment. In 2018, before opening our production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, we took our company on a research field trip to Holocaust Museum LA. Next week we return to perform our 10th iteration of the play in the museum’s new 215 seat theatre. Especially excited about introducing two Sold Out student morning shows to this beautiful space. Tkts still avail for the Sun Oct 4 matinee @2pm. Info: www.holocaustmuseumla.org

In one week, we open the 10th iteration of my LatinX production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. We’ve been performing this play since 2018 when child separation at the border grew into a huge issue. People warned me to not make any comparisons. Now look where we are. Detention centers and killings in our streets by masked govt employees. And these three brilliant & brave actors (Emiliano Torres, Genesis Ochoa, David Gurrola) have been fighting the fight with me from the very beginning. Come keep Anne’s story alive, now at the beautiful new 215 seat Goldrich Theatre near the Grove. Tkts/info: www.holocaustmuseumla.org

Here we go again! Our 10th iteration of this very special (and timely) production. I adore my DIARY OF ANNE FRANK family and greatly appreciate all the hard work everyone has put into keeping her story alive. Cant wait for everyone to see this beautiful new 215 seat theatre at the Holocaust Museum LA. A sparkling addition for our city and the arts. Tkts only available for the Sun Oct 4@2pm performance. Eight years ago we ended what was to be just a three week run of my very unique staging of “The Diary of Anne Frank” in a small 50 seat theatre in Hollywood. In two weeks we’ll be opening the 10th iteration of the play at the Holocaust Museum LA’s beautiful new 215 seat theatre. Unfortunately, this play is more timely than ever. We had to add a second school matinee which is also now sold out! Come see what all the buzz is about! Sun Oct 4@2pm. Tkts/info: www.holocaustmuseumla.org

This is the 2nd time this year that Victor Jones and Ohio University Lancaster are presenting my suicide awareness play, RIGHT BEFORE I GO. Break a leg tonight! Hopefully next year I’ll be able to perform it with them. This is so important for college students to be experiencing this piece since suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for young people aged 10 to 34 in the U.S. And the LEADING cause in the UK. DM me if you’re an educator interested in a potential university tour.
