This morning, I didn’t feel like going to the beach.

It was raining. It was cold. And part of me wanted to jump straight into work.

But I went anyway.

Sometimes we wait for the energy before we do the thing.

Sometimes we do the thing—and the energy follows.

I walked out to the beach in the rain and found a group of lovely friends who have made watching the sunrise together a ritual.

Cold morning.
Warm friendship.
A beautiful sunrise.

And a reminder that sometimes what we need is waiting just outside the door.

So before you jump into the next thing today—

Invitation to put down your phone.

Take a nature break, even if just for 30 seconds.

See what’s waiting for you out there.

SUNRISE FOR BUSY PEOPLE ☀️

Sunlight touches my face,
warmth moves through the body.

Something inside begins to glow.

Heart meeting sun.
Sun meeting heart.

Until I can no longer tell
where one ends
and the other begins.

Recognize your inner sunshine.
Your true nature.

Radiate it into the world. ☀️

Finally getting around to posting a few pics taken during”We’re Outside”. What a wonderful experience. the weather was perfect, incredible art, and the event was well attended. I truly enjoyed and appreciated all of the folks that stopped by my booth. I love it when people really look and ask questions regarding my process and inspiration. Yep, I enjoy the personal interaction. A huge Thank you to @cocoheadpottery, and A big thanks to our expert curator @saundra_alexis_heath and everyone involved. I am especially grateful for the unwavering love and support of my husband. Still riding off the high from Saturday’s ‘We’re Outside’ exhibition. Thank you @saundra_alexis_heath @thomas_heath & the @heathgallery for including ATTIE in this year’s annual celebration. Harlem never fails to provide rich culture and arts and that’s exactly what the afternoon was filled with.

Grateful for the people who made it out to show support. I always appreciate seeing familiar faces and the convos with newcomers being introduced to the project. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to make it around to meet everyone. But I am honored to be featured alongside all the incredible talents involved.

Thanks to Gary and his team for assisting and making this a seamless experience from start to finish. To my canopy buddy Patrick-Earl, I was thrilled to be featured with the likes of such a SoHo icon. Couldn’t have asked for better positioning with my neighbor artist, Theo, Bonnie, Jamel, Linda and David. And to everyone else, exceptional work!

Thank you to the partners that made this possible, @mmpcia, @partnershipsforparks, @cpfnyc, @summerstage and most importantly @saundra_alexis_heath & @heathgallery

Blessed!

Today marks five years since we held our very first retreat here at The Yoga Sanctuary 🥹

At the time, I could not have imagined all that would grow from that first gathering. Since then, we have welcomed more than 50 retreats, programs, and residencies into this space. So many people have come through these doors to rest, heal, learn, share their gifts, reconnect with themselves, and create memories that will always live within the spirit of this sanctuary.

I wish I could tag more people, but there is a limit. Even though I cannot tag you all, please know that each of you has been an important part of the evolution of The Yoga Sanctuary. Your presence, your stories, your laughter, your tears, your offerings, and the energy you left behind have all helped shape this space into what it is today.

If you have ever visited the sanctuary, I would love for you to share one of your favorite memories with us in the comments.

Thank you for growing with us, believing in this vision, allowing The Yoga Sanctuary to be a part of your journey, and extending grace as we grow. Five years later, we are still planting, tending, learning, and becoming 🤲🏾
