Just another summer adventure with Leo and his cousins! 🐢☀️🦁

We spent the day at the Staten Island Zoo and it was SO much fun! 🥹💙

Leo’s newest obsession is *Finding Nemo*, so you can imagine his excitement when he got to see Dory, Nemo, turtles AND ride Nemo on the carousel! 🐠🎠 His face was priceless!

He even got to touch a turtle, and Zookeeper Erin was so interactive, engaging, and educational with the kids. It made the experience even more special! 🐢✨

The cousins had the best time exploring, learning, and making summer memories together. 🤍

Thank you, Staten Island Zoo, for such a fun day! We can’t wait to come back! 🐠☀️

This year has been my absolute favorite year. Finding out that I was pregnant was one of the happiest moments of my life. I am so blessed and grateful to have so many truly beautiful people in my life who have stayed by me and supported me throughout the whole experience and are still there for me now. Having my daughter is the best thing that has ever happened me and watching her continue to grow never ceases to amaze me. It was not even close to being easy but she makes it all worth it. Peace out 2025 ✌️

9 years of chairing a section for Spooktacular — the faces change, the work gets harder, but the joy stays the same. Seeing thousands of kids light up with smiles each night will always be the moment I live for. Grateful for the crazy crew that always makes it possible - sorry I couldn’t tag you all 💚

On Wednesday, Zuko completed his training with @barkersbalancedk9s and he’s been so great! Walks are more relaxed and Zuko can enjoy play time with friends off leash 🐕 and pose for photos with friends like daisy (who was also trained by Brian!) he got his first pup cup for being such a good boy. Reach out to Brian for any training needs!

Meet @zookeeperin a Lead zookeeper at the @statenislandzoo in the Tropical Forest sections and a positive reinforcement training advisor!

At Staten Island she cares for small South American song birds, raptors/bird of prey, tamanduas, Bolivian Titi monkeys, and North American Porcupines. Erin has previously been a marine mammal trainer and a critical care keeper for sick animals. Her first job in her teens was an amusement park game operator until she broke into the wildlife field! 🐬🦨🦘

Erin finds proper zoological facilities incredibly important for the conservation of species. She has first hand seeing the impact they have from when she has worked with species that were at one point in time, functionally extinct, meaning extinct in their native habitats.

Thankfully due to breeding programs like the SSP, Species Survival Program, species that are on the brink of extinction have been brought back such as the Bald Eagle and the Scimitar Oryx. “Zoological breeding of species helps to keep animal genetics varied so that if needed and when needed we can help the species that call the earth home.

The Kender Academy Dancers got to spend international dance day at the Staten Island Zoo 🤩

Thank you to our dancer/Zookeeper Erin for organizing this fundraiser event for the Livestock Conservancy and inviting us to perform, and for showing us around some of the exhibits. We had such a fun time!
