Shout out post to @athleticannex @garethwilford and crew!!

In 2014 I sat down at @hubbardandcravens with @zoomkennedy to discuss working part time for Athletic Annex.

I knew Bob because he was a Board member for Back on My Feet Indy. I had left that job to stay home with my oldest, Marshall. I didn’t feel like I could give the job what it needed of me.

I remember nervously telling Bob I was pregnant with my second baby thinking maybe they wouldn’t want me to work for them knowing my life was gonna get more hectic and I might be less available.

Bob didn’t blink or seem to think twice about that.
Over the years I helped out with their social media and events often times showing up with a baby on my hip or handing off a newborn that Justin would hold during meetings. I lead their training programs and hosted a weekly stroller group meet up for a 3 mile run or walk in the Monon.

They fully embraced me in my early stages of motherhood. What a gift.

I had no idea where my career would go from there but I knew I was able to be with my babies a lot and also felt satisfaction with part time for a company and sport I really loved.

A year or so into working for Annex I launched my podcast, I’ll Have Another with Lindsey Hein. They supported me then and my gosh they show up for me to this day in ways I am so grateful for.

I am so happy to continue to partner with a local run specialty store that doesn’t just care about their sales at the end of the day, they care about the sport of running, helping newbies as much as helping those of us who have been on a decades love affair with running.

Thank you Athletic Annex for all that you do for Indy and thank you for believing in my work all these years.

Had to dig through the archives to find my photos from the 1991 world track and field championships in Tokyo from 1991.

It’s going to be a full circle moment as I return to Tokyo to cover my 17th world championships out of a possible 20 in my career. My friends at @aipsmedia told me in Budapest that there are less than 10 Americans who have covered that many championships.

Thanks to @worldathletics @wchtokyo25 for this amazing opportunity. I don’t take this for granted.

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to travel all over the world with my vendor partners- This trip to Tokyo Japan with @asics was one of the top in my 20+ years with @runpacers - Thanks to Kodama-san and all the Asics team for this incredible trip to run the Tokyo Marathon!!
