$10,000 for the Victoria BC Arts Community is A BIG DEAL 👏👏

Lers be real - these are people are the BEST. This team should be INCREDIBLY proud of what they accomplished in their first official year as a #nonprofit, and just you wait to see whats next.

Thank you for keeping joy at the forefront of your values and empowering us to show up whole heartedly for the sake of PLAY and togetherness.

Big love to our board of directors, members, volunteers, jammers, hosts, collaborators and mentors. We couldnt have done this without you.

Consider our gobs SMACKED💥🙈🙉🙊💥 What an event!! What a space! The ART!! THE SCREEN!!!!

I genuinely believe one of the best things about everyone having a phone is how accessible filmmaking has become. Sure, our feeds can be overwhelming, but our generation is creating more than ever — and that deserves to be honoured.

Images are powerful. Human-made images are vital. And gathering in person to celebrate them matters even more. With AI reshaping the creative landscape, the artistic process is more vulnerable than it has ever been, and your presence here tonight supports the local artists who keep real storytelling alive.

Art doesn’t just record who we are — it transforms us. Typing a thought into a search bar can’t replace the messy, beautiful self-discovery that comes from making something with your own hands. Creativity blooms through problem-solving, not shortcuts. I hope you left last night inspired to dig deeper, experiment boldly, and keep expressing the brilliant, singular humans you are — even when the easy route tempts you.

Also we raised over $2000 towards our future community arts space endeavor as well as a donation to the Victoria Native Friendship Center! Thank you to the incredible folks who all contributed to this insane night. Full pic album on Facebook. See you next year! ♡
