We are excited to film Sharp & Fine’s latest work “IPHIGENIA” this weekend at ZSpace. Physically theatrical work like Sharp & Fine’s benefits from front row camera setups when possible, which allow for a detailed rendering of text & character as well as a rich kinesthetic capture of movement. Clip from “A Detective Story” (2024) from Sharp & Fine featuring Hadassah Perry and Molly Levy.

Last Saturday, we opened Assimilation, which I directed for the wondrous Word for Word! We perform, as theatre, two short stories by E.L Doctorow and Tatyana Tolstaya that use boundless imagination and wit to defy expectations about immigrant stories. Our brilliant creative team has crafted a gorgeous show, and I hope you’ll join us at Z Space before we close on November 8. Meet the cast of PILGRIMAGE! I’m so excited to introduce the wonderful actors joining us this November for our residency at The for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University! Leila Buck as Noor Awesta Zarif as Maryam Raghad Makhlouf as Nadia Laura Zee as Sosan Ruthie Bowles as Fatima Bridgette and I are thrilled to be stepping back into the rehearsal room with this talented ensemble and our director, Shadi Ghaheri. One of the joys of developing a new play is discovering things about the characters and their stories that we hadn’t seen before. I’m looking forward to seeing what these artists bring to PILGRIMAGE and where they take us. A big thank you to The Lab for welcoming us and giving us the time and space to continue developing this work. Can’t wait to get started! Pilgrimage world premiere was a co-production between Golden Thread Productions and Z Space in the fall of 2025 in San Francisco. #PilgrimagePlay #GeorgetownUniversity #NewPlayDevelopment

IPHIGENIA performances are this week! When we started making this show, we wanted to box ourselves into a tragedy and see what happened when we beat on the walls. Now, it’s time to bring everything into the theater and let our Iphigenia, Agamemnon, Achilles, and Chorus tell their story. We’re heading to Georgetown University! I’m so excited that Pilgrimage is continuing its journey with a residency at The Lab for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University this November! After our world premiere in San Francisco last fall, thanks to @goldenthreadplays and @zspacesf, Bridgette and I have been eager to get back into the rehearsal room and see where we can take the play next. There’s always more to discover about the characters and their stories. A big thank you to @thelabgu for welcoming us and giving us the space to continue developing this work. We’re looking forward to collaborating with director Shadi Ghaheri who I have worked with before and love as a collaborator and a wonderful group of DC-area actors. Cast announcement coming soon. Can’t wait to see what we discover together! #PilgrimagePlay #GeorgetownUniversity #NewPlayDevelopment

We convinced @wienerkids to share a few words about composing the score for IPHIGENIA. There’s something really special about making a show where the movement, text, and music are all being created to tell a story, particularly when it’s a full-length show and you can immerse yourself in the experience of everything coming together. We LOVE live music and are so honored to be working with both an incredible composer and an incredible band.
