On the latest episode of Peer Pressure, we sit down with Rajiv Jandu, Chief Operations Officer at @zucchini_ke

We get into how Zucchini started with one opportunity in 1991, when Rajiv’s father took a leap of faith and became a fruits and vegetable vendor at ABC.

From there, he kept spotting new opportunities expanding into new categories, opening more branches, and eventually building the Zucchini that exists today.

On the latest episode of Peer Pressure, we sit down with Rajiv Jandu, Chief Operations Officer at @zucchini_ke

While joining the family business can seem like having a head start, it also comes with the question of whether you’re there because of your family name or because you actually bring value to the business.

For Rajiv, stepping into Zucchini meant earning his place, learning from his father, and finding his own footing while carrying forward a legacy that had already been built.

On today’s episode of Peer Pressure, we sit down with Rajiv Jandu, Chief Operations Officer at @zucchini_ke

After joining the family business in 2018, Rajiv stepped into a period of growing competition, shrinking margins, and mounting financial pressure. What followed was a deep look at the business from where money was being lost to how the company needed to restructure and evolve.

We talk about the realities of keeping a family business alive, navigating competition and cash flow, and finding the balance between building on your family’s legacy and knowing when it’s time to do things differently.

Beyond the business, Rajiv shares what it means to work alongside your father, challenge ideas that have been around for decades, and build the next chapter of a business that started in 1991.

STAGE 2 — INTO THE WILD. 🌋

The landscape changed.
The road disappeared.
And the riding got harder.

From the shores of Lake Naivasha, riders pushed towards the volcanic landscapes of Mt. Suswa — through open country, steep climbs, fast descents and terrain that demanded everything from them.

Dust. Wind. Elevation.
Every kilometre telling its own story.

And somewhere between the climb and the descent, the reason for riding RVO became clear:

This isn't just a race.
It's an experience of Kenya.

Stage 2 — another chapter of the Odyssey.

We’re officially at Zucchini! 🫒🌿

And now it’s time to come and meet you properly.

This Saturday, The Olive Cellar will be popping up at one of the Zucchini stores for our very first in-store activation. We’ll be there with the oils, tastings and, of course, plenty of olive oil conversation. 🤍

Which Zucchini? 👀 We’re announcing that next.

So keep your eyes peeled, we can’t wait to meet you, let you taste what we’ve been talking about, and finally bring The Olive Cellar experience to you in person.

See you Saturday! 🫒✨

A little pinch-me moment for us. 🥹🫒

What started as a passion and an idea we genuinely believed in has somehow, in just a few months, made its way onto the shelves at Zucchini. And that feels pretty incredible.

It’s been a wild ride already, learning, tasting, sharing, introducing more people to good olive oil and slowly watching this little family-run business grow.

To every single person who has bought a bottle, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, attended a tasting or simply cheered us on,thank you. You’ve helped us get here. 🤍

And now… you can officially find The Olive Cellar at @zucchini_ke !🌿

A pretty big milestone for our little business, and hopefully only the beginning.

See you on the shelves. 🫒✨
