【New Arrivals | zug press】 Introducing new encounters at Miss Read 2026: zug press @zug.press, an artist collective focused on independent publishing founded by Zhu Gaocanyue @zhu_gaocanyue and Zuya Yang @miukiia and based in Brooklyn, NY and Hong Kong. Tidal Issue 1: Shoreline Edited by Zuya Yang and Zhu Gaocanyue Tidal Project engages in supporting women artists working across photography, moving image, performance, installation, and other experimental approaches across Asia and beyond. Beginning with a publishing series, Tidal flows into artist monographs and extends to collective, curatorial, and discursive practices. The first issue of Tidal, Shoreline, traces the shifting boundary between land and sea, using this imagery to explore the fluidity of histories, identities, memories and representations. By reimagining photography as a site of resistance and care, this issue gathers artists who work with archives that drift between the weight of history and the triviality of domestic life. Come check it out! We are open every weekend, 13:00–18:00. — encounters is a one-person, self-funded bookstore project. If you like this platform for cross-border encounters between books and people, you may, in addition to buying books or participating in our events and these encounters, consider Buy Me a Coffee (link in bio) as a tangible gesture of support. P60 - Prinzenallee 60 is jointly run by @impression.taiwan @deerlandtea_taiwan @encounters.hongkong #bookspace #independentbookshop #independentpublishing #asiandiaspora #berlin

【I am a bookseller, and much more besides 我是書店店員，以及很多其他】 We used to be invisible (which is the origin of the printed T-shirt, as customers often fail to identify the booksellers in the bookshops), and now the bookseller has suddenly become this celebrated icon with a revolutionary aura, even subversive connotations. But we are not merely shopkeepers; we also create cultural spaces for the production, dissemination and preservation of knowledge, where reflections and encounters may happen. Using the bookshop as a method, we build a city’s cultural landscape and community. This is to express solidarity for my fellow booksellers, and to review the reflections and encounters that happened in the bookspace recently. (There aren’t many photos taken of me in the space, I had intended this for our 1st anniversary next month) （沒有太多工作照，這張本來想留待空間下月滿一週年時用的） 2026.06.06 Event 活動 | Parallel Horizons: Preservation and Urban Regeneration in Hong Kong & Berlin 雙城地平線：香港與柏林的空間保育與都市更新 2026.06.06 Event | encounters x China Social Club at Taiwan Kulturtag 2026.06.11 活動｜黃珮珊 x 吳琦：那些重喚公共記憶的圖像與日記 & 《在2022的黑夜裡》新書分享會 2026.06.12 Evening Concert Series: Han-earl Park + Hada Benedito + Matthias Müller 2026.06.13 Screening + Conversation | ‘Where Comes Mulan’: A Film by Tianyi Zheng 2026.06.14 Evening Concert Series: Andrea Parkins + BREATH MAGNETIC + Bill Hsu/Chris Heenan/Rudi Fischerlehner 2026.06.20 Evening Concert Series: Teppei Higuchi + Manuel Carbone + The Waves 2026.06.21 Talk | 'Pride' and Asian Identities: A Queer Feminist Perspective 2026.06.25 Screening | Poetries from the Bookstores: Somewhere I Belong 書店裡的影像詩：停駐與穿越 2026.06.27 Event | Same Same Reading Circle (Sama سماء सम 様) 2026.06.29 Event | Counterflows: Diaspora, Desire, and Publishing 2026.07.07 Evening Concert Series: Project VO + Emilio Gordoa + Ignore The Machine — P60 - Prinzenallee 60 is jointly run by 空間由以下單位共同營運： @impression.taiwan @deerlandtea_taiwan @encounters.hongkong #independentbookshop #iambookseller #獨立書店 #我是書店店員

【Meet Our New Friends from Miss Read 2026: zhaoyuefan, Lechen Zheng, & zug press】 Miss Read @missreadberlin opened yesterday amidst sweltering heat at silent green @silent.green. I braced the heat to meet old and new friends at the fair, three of whom will be sharing at the bookspace next Monday—come say hi! Counterflows: Diaspora, Desire, and Publishing 2026.06.29 (Mon) 19:00–21:00 encounters bookspace Prinzenallee 60, 13359 Berlin Donation based admission Join us for a sharing session with three Asian diasporic publishing practices, organised on the occasion of Miss Read 2026: zhaoyuefan @fffanzy (Düsseldorf) will introduce her ongoing projects to suggest the potential of ephemera as a diasporic publishing strategy and discuss how publishing can take place beyond the form of ‘a book’. Starting from ‘why I am here’, her artistic practice moves between mediums, engaging playfully with different environments. She is co-founder of Mahjong Friends @mahjong_international and Nomad Papaya Books @nomadpapayabooks. She founded Little Business Press @littlebusinesspress in 2025. Lechen Zheng @zhenglechen_617 (London) will reflect on the role of diaspora in her publishing practice and how queer & desire travels across cultures. Drawing on experiences of sexual repression, coded language, and censorship, she will discuss the possibilities that emerged after leaving the original cultural context, the challenges of working between languages, audiences, and value systems, considering what becomes visible, what remains untranslatable, and how culturally specific stories of desire create ripples across cultures. Focusing on the Tidal Project, Zuya Yang @miukiia, co-founder of zug press @zug.press (New York/Hong Kong) will introduce their approach to photographic practices through publishing, and how these practices connect artists, communities and transregional contexts. Tidal engages with women artists working across photography, moving image, performance, installation, and other experimental approaches across Asia and beyond. Beginning with a publishing series, Tidal flows into artist monographs and extends to collective, curatorial, and discursive practices.
