POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥

Three days ago we were on stage in Amsterdam, and I’m still full of that night. So here’s what comes next.
On November 28 we’re back at @cminegenk, for the tenth time already. Ten editions in the same place, with an audience that keeps coming back, is something I don’t take for granted.

For everyone who couldn’t make it to Amsterdam, @nadavkander joins us in Genk as well. He’ll talk about The Edge of Things, his major retrospective at @foam_amsterdam , which brings together more than thirty years of work, from the Yangtze River in China and the Thames to Chernobyl and his portraits of the Obama administration. The book with the same title is out now with Thames & Hudson, and I can’t wait to hear the stories behind these images once more from the man who made them.

Also on stage that night:
* @noortjepalmers presents La vie en rose, a moving project about people living without a home
* @michielhendryckx looks back on a lifetime in press photography, where he always kept choosing beauty as a form of resistance
* @because.people.matter (Pie Aerts) introduces his book Coirón to a wider audience, a project about the gauchos of Chilean Patagonia
* Three promising photographers pitch their project live, on stage. Our jury and you, the audience, decide together who wins, and the winner moves forward with guidance and support from our partners - comment PITCH to receive all details.
* An image columnist shares a piece written for this evening
* A curator joins us to spotlight a new exhibition
(Names of the pitchers, columnist and curator follow soon.)

I’ll be your host for the night.
Expect a room full of people who care about photography enough to sit down together and listen, in a world where most of us just keep scrolling.

📅 November 28, [8pm (until 10.30pm)]
📍 C-Mine, Genk
🎟️ €20, comment SHOW and I’ll send you the link.

Made possible with @zwartopwit @fotorobyns

See you in Genk on November 28th?

Over 80% of the seats are gone 💛

This Friday De Donkere Kamer returns to Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam for the third time, and the room is filling up faster than I dared to hope a few weeks ago. If you’ve been meaning to get a ticket, now is the time, because the last seats won’t stay available for long.

Here’s what awaits you that evening:

* @nadavkander on his new book and exhibition The Edge of Things
* @biekedepoorter with The beds I slept in
* @robin_de_puy and her long-term project in the US
* @wilfrieddejong presenting his first photo book Polaroidman, five years of polaroids in one book
* Three young photographers pitching their project to you, the audience
* Curator @iris.sikking on the Eva Besnyö exhibition
* A visual column by @marieke.van.der.velden

Bring someone along, because the conversations afterwards are half of what makes this evening special I think.

Comment SHOW and I’ll send you the link to the last tickets.

See you on Friday?

US BY NIGHT - Sebastián Curi

First presented at @usbynightfest , the remaining prints have now found their way online!

Two hands, held together as if in prayer, ask to be carried in your memory, alongside all the other images you already hold. Made with gratitude to the Us By Night community, where that big, ongoing conversation of making and sharing comes alive, so the thought can pass from one person to the next, one drawing at a time.

Sebastián Curi (b. 1986) is a Latin American artist and illustrator originally from Argentina, now based in Barcelona. He’s known for his bold, colourful, and playful visual style, often featuring exaggerated human figures and hand gestures with thick outlines and vibrant palettes.

The print debuted at Us By Night 2026 in Antwerp (September 24–26), where copies were printed live each evening on Superdruk’s Korrex Frankfurt proofing press. Additionally, Sebastián took the Stadium Stage as a speaker on Friday the 25th.
