ΑΦΑ History in the African-American Day Parade 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛

Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. have been ingrained in the history of the African-American Day Parade based in Harlem, NY since its inception in 1968.

Former NYC Mayor Bro. David Dinkins served as a previous Grand Marshall alongside Spike Lee.

Representative Bro. Charles Rangel served as a previous Grand Marshall.

Congressman Bro. Rev. Adam Clayton Powell Jr. served as the first Grand Marshall alongside Shirley Chisholm.

This year the brothers of ΑΦΑ were lead by the next generation, our Alpha Mentees - who carried posters of prominent Alpha Men who left major impact on American History.

As we celebrate 100 years of the Alpha Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - we honor the legacy that paved the way for us, as we uplift the youth who march onward and upward to build the future ahead!

BROS OF ΑΦΑ IN THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN DAY PARADE 2026 🖤💛

The Harlem Alphas, alongside Alpha brothers of the NY Tri-state chapters, were proud to participate in the African-American Day Parade, one of Harlem’s most celebrated traditions honoring African-American history, culture, community, and achievement.

For generations, Alpha Phi Alpha has stood at the intersection of manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. Our participation in this annual celebration reflects our continued commitment to Harlem and to the communities we proudly serve.

As the Harlem Alphas celebrate 100 Years of Excellence, we remain committed to carrying the legacy forward and representing Alpha with Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind.

🖤💛 HARLEM ALPHAS — 100 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE 💛🖤

Today, I had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Sager from ABC 7 Eyewitness News about changes to the role of Regents exams in New York State’s graduation requirements.

I’m grateful to be part of a school community that recognizes that students learn and demonstrate their abilities in different ways. My AP classes, hands-on projects, community involvement, homework, exams, quizzes, and class participation all contribute to preparing me for college-level work or technical career training.

Thank you, @baldwin_schools , for giving me the opportunity to share my perspective! 🎥📚

Day 261 of 1,000 | 1000 Days to Build a Birth Center Campaign

Rain couldn't stop us from coming together for a greater purpose thanks to @ovingtonprophete . ☔🤝 2 events, 1 full day of community engagement

We had the privilege of joining an incredible group of nonprofit leaders to discuss how we can strengthen collaboration and better serve our community. Although our missions may differ, our shared goal remains the same: creating a stronger, more connected community.

The conversations were filled with honesty as we shared both the challenges we face and the lessons we've learned along the way. We left inspired, encouraged, and hopeful about what we can accomplish together.

We also got to see @tyhankerson and @nathanielfornewyork .

Collaboration over competition. Together, we make a greater impact. 💛
