Trump’s $700M “clean coal” con 🔥 He just handed the coal industry $700 million of your tax dollars at an event branded “Beautiful, Clean Coal” - the dirtiest power there is, and one of the priciest (up to $173/MWh vs ~$37 for wind & solar, the cheapest power 10 years running). And he’s spending $2B more to kill cheaper offshore wind. China builds more wind & solar than the rest of the world combined. #ClimateChange #Coal #CleanEnergy #FossilFuels #Trump 🎥: White House
California’s coastal management program is at risk- and here’s what you can do about it. 🌊 In May, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick directed the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) to conduct a full review of California’s coastal management program. 💰 Under the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 (CZMA), coastal and Great Lakes states are able to protect and restore our rich coastal communities, resources, and ecosystems in the United States. The Trump administration is accusing these protections of getting in the way of economic development, including space exploration, as California has pushed back twice on SpaceX’s plans to increase rocket launches off the coast. 🐟 This is a direct attack on California’s authority to oppose other harmful federal projects such as offshore oil drilling. The good news is that WE have a say. NOAA needs to hear from us. ⚠️ We cannot let this review weaken California’s authority! 🌎 WHAT YOU CAN DO: Submit a PUBLIC COMMENT at the link in my bio (there is a template and it only takes a minute!), attend the IN-PERSON meeting in Santa Monica on August 10th (DM me for more info!), attend the VIRTUAL meetings on August 11th and 12th (register at the link in my bio), and SHARE the message and this post with those around you! • • • • • #offshoredrilling #californiacoast #oceanconservation #drilling #fossilfuels
Ever wondered how coal and oil are made? It takes millions of years, intense heat, and pressure deep underground to turn buried plants and animals into the fossil fuels we use today! Just to clarify: 2026 is on track to be one of the hottest years in recorded history, making it one of the 3 hottest years on the planet in the last 125,000, creating change so rapid that hundreds of species are going extinct every day, leading to biodiversity and ecological collapse that threatens the ability of all lives on this planet to literally live… The Atlantic Meridian Oceanic Current is showing serious signs of collapse which will disrupt weather patterns in Europe and North America creating infrastructure problems, food shortages, and threatening the lives of millions… There’s an El Niño building in the pacific so large they had to change the scales on which they measure these events, which has the potential to disrupt global weather patterns and lead to crop failures worldwide, threatening even more millions of people… All while fires rage from the Midwest to Westcoast, destroying communities and blanketing cities in thick smoke that threatens human health, as a result of clearcut forestry practices that have been shown for decades to increase flooding, drought and wildfires combined with changing weather patterns that leave these forest more vulnerable… Oh - and now extreme flooding, just as I post this video! All of this is happening…yet there are still people who believe climate change isn’t real? Or that the oil and gas industry isn’t responsible, even after they've openly admitted to knowing about climate change and its impact since the 70s and actively partook and all sorts of disinformation campaigns in order to boost their profits...? And at the same time, leaders of countries like Canada and the US roll back environmental protections, push through new oil pipelines, and continue investing in fossil fuel infrastructure, despite knowing that burning of fossil fuels is the root cause of all these problems, all for the sake of short term economics that keep the rich rich, while putting our communities, our children and our futures at risk…? Crazy. Maybe we should do something about that. #🤔 #huh can we please #stop we're in a #climateemergency #makeitmakesense #climatechange #fossilfuels #flood #wildfire #amoc #elnino
Ever feel like you're getting scammed when your power bill arrives? Yeah… you are. And this government’s in on it. We built and used to own most of the dams and Huntly power station - Now the big four power companies cash in by burning expensive coal and gas while we pay sky-high bills and the government scraps affordable clean energy solutions. This isn’t just unfair - it’s a full-blown rort. And Luxon just announced a plan straight out of Trump playbook. His plan is to make the energy system worse by locking in more climate-wrecking, price-hiking fossil fuels. 🚨 Approving more fossil fuel extraction in the North Sea will not bring down UK energy bills. If Andy Burnham wants to reduce the cost of living, we need to power our economy with cheap homegrown renewables, insulate our homes and make big polluters pay for a greener and fairer future. Show your support for breaking the UK free from spiralling energy bills by adding your name via the link in our bio today. #rosebank #jackdaw #fossilfuels #energybills #costofliving #andyburnham
During a public street interview, a speaker presents a counter-argument regarding the historical role of fossil fuels and the global transition toward full electrification. He contends that petroleum adoption historically protected natural ecosystems, asserting that early fossil fuel use prevented widespread deforestation for timber and reduced reliance on whale oil. When questioned about modern climate activism, the speaker argues that policy pushes away from fossil fuels are primarily driven by desires to control energy resources and global power dynamics. He raises concerns about the supply chains required for battery technology, claiming that mineral extraction for electrification frequently relies on forced labor and exploitation in unstable or authoritarian regions. The speaker further contends that academic funding structures heavily influence research surrounding climate change, asserting that dissenting scientists face budget cuts and professional blacklisting. He concludes by emphasizing that changing global energy infrastructure fundamentally alters which entities hold political and economic control worldwide. #EnergyPolicy #FossilFuels #GreenEnergy #Geopolitics #ClimateDebate StreetInterview RedWireHQ
“Folks in Congress should be looking to make it easier and better for us, for the people, not just for the billionaire fossil fuel executives.” As Americans struggle to stay afloat with rising energy and healthcare bills, the Republican-led Congress is hard at work giving handouts to billionaire fossil fuel executives. The Endangered Species Committee known as the “God Squad” has unanimously voted to exempt Gulf of Mexico oil and gas operations from endangered species protections. The committee met for the first time in 30 years after the exemption was framed as a national security issue by Pete Hegseth. Hegseth said that litigation tied to endangered species was obstructing the Gulf’s energy production, which supplies 15% of U.S. domestic energy and a crucial supply for the military. The exemption applies to all endangered species in the Gulf, including sea turtles, Gulf sturgeon, and the critically endangered Rice’s whale — a species with an estimated just 51 individuals left, heavily impacted by the Deepwater Horizon spill in 2010. Because of the vote, proposed protections for the whale will not move forward. The decision also raises questions about ongoing lawsuits and the future of endangered species protections in the Gulf Reporting by Margaret Kates Read more at the article linked in bio #news #endangeredspecies #fossilfuels #conservation #gulfofmexico
🇺🇾💚 Here’s how Uruguay went from getting 50% of their energy from fossil fuels, to 98% of their energy renewably in 𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒! After writing a paper about how it come be done, Science Professor Roman Mendez Galain was HIRED as the country’s energy secretary, transforming the entire network! In a record year for fossil fuel licenses, this tiny country have showed we don;’t need to rely on fossil fuels!
