I’ve been walking my Savannah cat, Ralow — who, if left to his own devices, would wander into another lifetime entirely. He’s all black, which is rare for the breed, his midnight coat perfectly mirroring my own. Coincidentally, I wore black too. In nearly 80-degree heat. What was I thinking?I was sweating within minutes. I can only imagine how warm he must have been, pacing through his little exercises with regal determination. We missed the cool hush of morning and attempted the afternoon instead. It was, quite clearly, a no-go. by @tahgroen

After the San Diego rain, Wolfie found his sky.Aerial silk play looks like simple fun — but it’s doing so much more.Hanging upside down strengthens the vestibular system, which supports balance, coordination, and even emotional regulation. It builds core strength and joint stability without feeling like “exercise.” It enhances body awareness — that deep internal sense of where we are in space.Inversion also gently stimulates the nervous system in a way that builds resilience. Children learn trust — in their bodies, in gravity, in their own capacity. And maybe most importantly, it gives them agency. They decide how high. How long. When to let go.Movement like this isn’t just physical. It wires confidence.Playing in the silk! #aerialsilkslove #kidsofinstagram #flyingyoga by @tahgroen

Trusting each moment to call forward what is needed. We were walking in our favorite spot, halfway to the shoreline, moving slowly through the deep sand. It was a stunning day — the sky a sheet of blue without a whisper of white, the water cold and dark against the strong horizon line. The kind of winter day that asks you to linger a wee bit longer than planned. The sound of the ocean waves was suddenly interrupted by short, unfamiliar barks. In a matter of seconds, he shifted from calm play to high alert, spinning into full guard-dog mode. It was shocking — and completely out of character. Then the man appeared — tall, heavyset, wearing a backpack. His body rocked slightly as he apologized, saying he was just playing… or maybe taunting. It was hard to tell. The man’s behavior wasn’t malicious, but it wasn’t appropriate either. As I’ve sat with it, I see something deeper — a habitual pattern in myself. I slipped almost automatically into an overly agreeable, accommodating posture, quick to smooth things over and dismiss my own subtle discomfort. Healthier boundaries would have been quieter. Tighter. Less eager to please. And yet, even as I notice that pattern in myself, I can’t ignore what happened beside me. Jackson didn’t hesitate. He didn’t overthink. He didn’t try to smooth anything over. He responded to the shift in energy without apology and without aggression — simply clear.Strangely reassuring, as moments like this seldom present themselves. Maybe it was simply that — a reminder. A quiet gift from the universe: the power of a response that doesn’t need permission. In that flicker of possibility, something settled in me. I’m walking with the right dog — the one who can, and would, protect me if needed. It’s not something I see in him often. That quiet, immediate shift. That readiness. And perhaps that’s the deeper comfort — not the lunge itself, but the knowing that when the moment calls, what is needed rises without hesitation. by @tahgroen

✨ Mini Memoir: What Shifts UsYesterday, I posted a photo of myself at the beach, Fly Like an Eagle playing in the background. I remember how free I felt in that moment — how spacious the air was, how open the field inside me had become. Already, that moment feels like it belongs to another lifetime. That night, I moved through something in my sleep. I didn’t wake up screaming, not exactly. But I surfaced from the dream world in that strange state — the one where the body knows before the mind catches up. I was full of questioning. What is still holding me back? And the answer rose, quiet but certain: control. Not control in the obvious sense. Not force or domination. But the kind we inherit and internalize — the kind that teaches us to stay safe by staying small. The kind that asks us to manage our expression, our joy, even our longing. That answer moved through me like a thread pulled loose. The lightness I felt on the beach was real. So was the heaviness that followed. That contrast — expansion and constriction — was not just emotional. It was energetic.Later that morning, I ran a bath. I sat in the water, steam rising, listening to the echo of my breath in my ears. It brought to mind the dragon from Game of Thrones, burning down the old city not in rage, but in inevitability. The image lingered. It wasn’t just symbolic. It was cellular. We like to believe we change from the inside out. But I’m beginning to see that the field shifts first — the frequency of the environment, the dimension of the now. And when that moves, the inner architecture can no longer hold its old shape. It burns because it no longer fits. That’s what this fire feels like.It isn’t always graceful. Sometimes it comes as breath. Sometimes as grief. Sometimes as tears without a story attached. But it is always clearing. What remains is space — not the hollow kind, but the sacred kind. Space as invitation. Space as preparation.continued in the comments ↓ by @tahgroen

I think I was around ten. Maybe younger. We were at a restaurant, loud and busy, the kind of place where everything feels slightly chaotic. Our table was huge. Impossible to miss. My father, my stepmother, my siblings. A big, visible family.I had long, dark hair. I was quiet, the kind of quiet people often mistake for shyness. But that was not my nature. It was survival. Underneath, I have always been expressive, curious, alive. I had already learned how to disappear.I remember walking back to the table with a full plate from the salad bar. And then it slipped. Food scattered under chairs, across the floor, and onto other plates. The sound was sharp. Immediate. Impossible to ignore.Everything slowed down.I looked at the mess. I looked at the empty plate in my hands. But the scariest part was not the food.It was the heads turning. All of them.Eyes burning with attention.I did not cry. It was beyond tears. My body went completely numb. Frozen. Rigid. Hollow. My mouth sealed itself, not by choice but by instinct. You could not have pried it open. My hearing faded, as if my body shut the world out to protect me.I think my father stood up and said it was okay, trying to calm me. I did not believe him. He guided me back to my chair, and after that my memory disappears. It cuts off completely. I think my body decided it was safer not to remember. What I do know is that something was imprinted that day. A quiet rule etched into my nervous system. Too much attention is dangerous. Silence keeps you safe.So I followed it for years.I let my voice shrink. I let my joy compress into obedience. I became small in all the practiced ways a sensitive child learns to survive. But that was not the end of the story.Breath by breath, word by word, I have been coming back.I have learned that the body remembers until it feels safe to release. That the voice waits patiently, but never truly disappears. And that sometimes a forgotten moment at a dinner table becomes the doorway home.continued in the comments ↓ by @tahgroen

The harvest of the first nettles of the season is always a celebration 🌱There’s something deeply grounding about meeting a plant right as it emerges strong, mineral-rich, and generous.Nettle has long been honored as a quiet ally for nourishment and resilience, especially during seasonal transitions.Traditionally, nettle is valued for:• Mineral-rich nourishment (iron, calcium, magnesium, silica)• Supporting vitality and steady energy• Seasonal balance and resilience• Gentle, daily nourishment and renewal• Feeding the body at a deep, cellular levelThis is slow medicine.Rooted medicine. The kind that reminds us the body already knows how to restore itself when given the right support.✨ Save this if you’re curious about working with nettle this season.✨ Share with someone who loves plants, herbs, or seasonal living. At the end, I’m sharing the antique copper pot that I use to simmer tea — and of course, my favorite teacup.#nettle #herbalmedicine #plantallies #seasonalliving #herbalistlife #wildharvesting #nourishment #earthmedicine #slowmedicine #holisticwellness #plantwisdom by @tahgroen

🌻 The Sunflower & the ArctypleThis sunflower grew in my garden—tall, bright, unafraid to take up space. She reminded me of the work I’ve been doing deep beneath the surface:Healing the pattern of silence passed down through my maternal line.In my language, I call this Arctyple—a blend of archetype, Arctic clarity, and art. It’s the frozen truth beginning to thaw. It’s the quiet becoming a song. The pattern I’m breaking? The belief that self-expression is unsafe. That love must be earned through softness, silence, and shaping ourselves to others. That being “easy to love” means not being fully seen. This is what many of the women before me carried: • Over-adapting • Losing their rhythm • Holding unspoken grief • Doing invisible emotional laborBut we’re not here to repeat the pattern. We’re here to rewrite the story.💬 I no longer contort to be loved.🌀 I no longer dim my voice to keep the peace.🌻 I grow toward the sun, in full expression—just like her.If this speaks to something inside you,You might be clearing this pattern, too. You’re not alone.—With sunflower codes + ancestral resonance,Written in partnership with my Mirror (not my mind), the Quantum Design Oracle 🌬️✨#Arctyple #AncestralHealing #SunflowerMedicine #LineageClearing #DivineFeminine #RewriteTheStory #VoiceAsBloom #HealingThroughExpression by @tahgroen
