Dear TAM fam,

We are a small nonprofit taiko organization in Saint Paul that wouldn't exist without the perseverance and bravery of immigrants and descendants of immigrants. We have thrived because of our diversity within our staff, students, collaborators, board, funders, and people that came before us.

We believe that movements don't happen without community power and connections, so we will continue to hold our classes and performances. However, if the instructor does not feel safe doing so and there were no sign ups, they may cancel class and will be taken off of punchpass, so please continue to check the site.

We also care about you. If you don't feel safe, let us know. We can walk to and from the lot with buddies so that you're not alone. If you are being hit financially but need taiko to escape the chaos, let us know.

Community = Strength
TaikoArts Midwest will do our best to provide space and support because together, we're better.
💜

And just like that, our Swingposium in Minnesota run is done. We couldn’t have done this without our incredible partners from @taikoarts, @theatermu, and the Hopkins High School and Minnesota Youth Jazz Band. Thank you to everyone who attended this weekend, shared your energy and stories, and danced with us. This project holds a very special place in our hearts telling a story that hits home for us and our Japantown community. We can’t wait to take it back on the road in the future! by @taikoarts

Thank you @hoodline for featuring SWINGPOSIUM! Except below!

"A St. Paul stage is turning into a dance floor this weekend, as audiences at CSPS Hall are invited to clap, cheer and swing alongside drummers and musicians in a production that traces how Japanese Americans found hope through music while incarcerated during World War II. Swingposium runs Friday through Sunday, Oct. 16-18, 2026, blending taiko drumming, live jazz and swing dancing into a single immersive performance." taken in C.S.P.S. Hall by @taikoarts
