🤯 Why isn’t anyone else talking about this place?

😎 I spent an extended weekend on a quiet little island off the coast of North Carolina and I don’t know how this place wasn’t completely crowded, but that’s what made it so perfect.

🛥️I took the Ocracoke Express passenger ferry from Hatteras, and that’s when the trip really started.

😍 The ride was smooth, peaceful, and honestly one of my favorite parts. You get dropped right into the heart of Ocracoke Village, where things slow down in the best way possible.

🌊 Think cozy cafés, local shops, nature trails, and quiet beaches you can actually have to yourself. It’s the perfect place to unplug for a few days and reset.

Have you every heard of Ocracoke?

📍Make sure to save this post for your next escape.

‼️Save this post-You can thank me later 🤝

My recommendations for The Brilliant Lady cruise ⬇️

🍽 If you want bold memorable plates:

🌮 Pink Agave – Ate here twice because…self-control? Don’t know her. This was my fav! Eat here for rich Mexican flavors in a gorgeous restaurant with immaculate vibes.
🍽 Rojo – Grab dinner here for flavor filled tapas that are worth every bite. They also serve a fantastic brunch too.

🍖 If you’re craving comfort food or classics done right:

🍝 Extra Virgin – Pastas so good they’d make an Italian grandmother tear up. Definitely make sure to try their desserts too.
🥩 The Wake – This is the spot for people who love a good cut of meat. The steak, lamb chops, and even the bread will have you dancing at the table! Also great for brunch.

🔥 If you want something interactive or adventurous-these two are an entire experience on their own:

🥢 Gunbae – Korean BBQ + drinking games = you WILL make friends here. And you will leave FULL. I loved the tabletop cooking!
🧪 Test Kitchen – The “wait… what is THAT?” restaurant where you’re guaranteed to try something you’ve never had before. It’s experimental, it’s fun, and it will definitely leave you surprised.

🍔 If you want something quick, casual, or flexible:

🍱 The Galley – This one is for the girls that crave a burger with a piece of sushi on the side .Because same 😅. They have endless options so it’s the perfect place to go when you’re feeling indecisive. They also have ready made grab and go boxes (I loved the turkey sandwich)
🍣 Sun Club Café – Fresh poke bowls for when you’re trying to be cute by the pool but still need to eat every 2 hours. Argue with somebody else, I’m on vacation.
🛎 Room Service – If being horizontal while eating is your vibe, this one is for you. They offer a solid menu for when you don’t want to leave your cabin and it’s available all day!

💎 If you ❤️ a hidden gem:

🇬🇷 Opa Hour – Limited-time Greek bites. Basically a mini treasure hunt—check your schedule so you don’t miss it because this was sooooo good.

🫶🏽Posted this on TT as part of a partnership-these are my honest opinions so sharing here too!

You book the trip, I’ll handle the soundtrack 😘

☺️ Not every song is literally about travel. Some just put you in the right mood for those windows down, sun on your face, exciting and vibey moments when life just feels good.

👀 Save this for your next trip and tell me your favorite song for travel before I drop part 2 🫶🏽

This might be illegal 😅 But what if finding a feather isn’t as random as you think? 🪶

Feathers have held spiritual and cultural significance for thousands of years and to many different cultures. In some Native American traditions, they symbolize things like honor, wisdom, protection, and a connection to the spiritual world.

On that hike, he told me I could use the feather as an offering back to the land, if I felt ready to. That’s something that stayed with me.

Their meanings vary across cultures, and some people even believe the color of a feather carries its own message. White feathers are often associated with peace and protection, while black feathers can represent strength or transformation.

Of course, if you ask science, birds are just molting 😂 But I think there’s something beautiful about how the things we learn and experience can change the way we see the world.

Sometimes a feather is just a feather. And sometimes it’s a reminder to slow down, pay attention, and find meaning in the little things.

What are your thoughts?

Also do not talk to me about my nail I got bit by a dog 😓

Am I the only one?? I’m sry but being on a group trip does NOT mean we have to be together 24/7 😂

I love y’all, but at some point I need to go be with ME.

A little alone time makes me a better travel companion, I promise 😩

Are you the friend who needs space or the one who wants everybody together the entire trip? 👀

The whole reason I ever wanted to travel started with animals 🥹

As a kid, I was full on obsessed with animals. I still kinda am lol, but growing up I knew all the weird animal facts, could tell you where every animal came from, and could only dream of seeing those places for myself one day.

Turns out seeing them in real life is even more unreal than I imagined. There’s something so magical about just being there while the entire Lion King cast is just there in the wild showing off in their own habitat.

Current me was speechless… but the little girl in me?Absolutely losing her mind 😍

Have you ever been on a safari? Is it on your list?

😘🎁 We love to travel, and we love having options, so consider this your birthday gift from me to you 🤗

I travel for mine every year, so I put together 10 warm places I’d recommend, with ideas for what to do and where I’d go in each.

👀 Not a Sag but just trying to get away from the cold? Fine you’re welcome too 😂

And because narrowing it down to 10 was hard, Saint Martin and Saint Lucia deserve an honorable mention 💯

✅ Save this for your birthday planning, send it to another Sag, and follow me for more travel ideas.

How are you spending your birthday this year? TBH I’m still figuring out mine 😂

🇬🇷 Save this for a relaxing Greek island getaway that’s dreamy enough to become the whole trip.

😍 Hydra gives you stone mansions, blue doors, waterfront dining, swimming coves, coastal walks and the rare feeling that nothing is rushing you.

📍You may also see Hydra written as Idra or Ydra. They all refer to Ύδρα, pronounced roughly “EE-thra.”

⛴️ From Athens: Take a direct ferry from Piraeus. It takes about 1 to 2 hours depending on the ferry and stops.

🚤 From the Peloponnese: Drive to Metochi, leave your car near the port and take the 20 minute passenger boat. Ferries also leave from Ermioni and Porto Heli.

🏝️ Island hopping: Hydra connects directly to Poros and Spetses, so it’s easy to combine all three. I went to Spetses next.

🛏️ Where to stay: Hydra Town puts you near the ferry, restaurants, shops and water taxis. Kamini and Vlychos are quieter, but I had two suitcases full of olive oil, so I wanted the easiest option near the port.

🏊🏽 Where to swim: Spilia and Hydronetta are close to town. Water taxis go to Vlychos, Bisti and Agios Nikolaos, while scheduled beach boats are more affordable. You’ll also find beach clubs and restaurants with swimming spots.

👟 Getting around: I mainly walked because I was determined to get my steps in and wander at my leisure. Expect hills, stone paths and stairs. You can also explore on horseback. Hydra is about 19 square miles, so don’t expect to see it all on foot.

☀️ When to go: May, June, September and October offer warm weather with fewer people than peak summer. The island kind of shuts down for winter, so start planning.

🧳 Travel tip: Hydra is car free for visitors, so pack light and check how many stairs are between the harbor and your accommodation. Horses can help with luggage.

⏰ A lot of people visit on a day trip, but I recommend staying 2 to 3 nights if you really want to settle in and relax.

✅ Save this for your Greece planning and send it to the person you’d run away to a Greek island with.

👀 When’s the last time you really slowed down on purpose?

Coffee date turned upside down. Still processing this one 😅

I’m not holding anything against the girl that brought me here, because she was right…I definitely found this interesting. But let’s be honest, dark tourism was DEFINITELY not on the itinerary when I agreed to go for coffee. And like any normal person, there’s nothing that could’ve prepared me to casually walk into a room decorated with actual human remains 😳

📍This is the San Bernardino alle Ossa in Milan, Italy and apparently its history goes allllll the way back to the 1200s.

⛪️ To be clear, this isn’t a museum…It’s still very much a regular active church….and the ossuary is attached. But crazy to think you can actually attend Mass just steps away.

😞 Besides just being there, I think the part I’m still stuck on is that I left knowing basically nothing about the people whose literal bones I had just been looking at. Why did I have to go home and research all of that myself?

💭 Maybe expecting to know exactly who people were after this many centuries isn’t realistic. But standing there looking at their remains without knowing anything about the lives they belonged to just didn’t sit right with me. Am I overthinking it? What do y’all think? 🤔

Travel Tips If you plan to visit:
🚶🏽‍♀️It’s less than .5 miles from the Duomo
🎟️ There’s no admission fee since this is an active place of worship, but you can leave an offering
⛪ Sunday Mass is held in Sri Lankan and weekday Mass in English
🚫 The ossuary/bone chapel is closed on Sundays
👚I’d treat it like any other functioning Catholic church when it comes to dress and behavior
⏰ Check current opening and Mass times before visiting since schedules can change
